The NOTORIOUS film hits theaters nationwide today and not surprisingly, the film is bringing a lot of attention to the real life people who were in Biggie's inner circle while he was alive, particularly Faith.

I haven't stopped playing Faith's music, so I can't honestly say I've "missed" hearing her voice. But I am relieved to hear that she's planning on releasing a new album in 2009.

"I've been taking a lot of meetings, and I've been enjoying my freedom, not being tied down to anything other than my family," Faith told MTV. I'm ready to record again. I've been hesitant to get into any type of record-deal situation. The offers have been coming in. Through the process of elimination, I'll pick the one that's right for me. But I'm gonna begin recording soon and have an album out this year. Sooner than later.

Watch Faith discuss the Notorious film:

While Faith says she's not looking to be signed to a long term contract again, she did tell MTV she would work with Diddy again. She also discussed a television sitcom in the works:

"I developed a synopsis for a sitcom, which is based loosely on my life," Faith said. "The show alludes to the fact that I was married and lost my husband. It's not about my husband being an artist. It's about that I took a break from the music business when I lost my husband, then I went back after I got offered [a gig performing] at a five-star hotel and casino. Then my kids are starting to sneak into my shows."

Sounds like she has some big plans in the works. I know I'd definitely love to see Faith on TV.

And Kima from Total, Bad Boy's other old school R&B act, showed up at a DC screening of the film. I wonder if they made the cut for the film at all or if they ended up on the cutting room floor. I wasn't able to attend the screening I was invited to this week, so I'll be watching it tonight with the rest of you guys!

What are some of your favorite Faith Evans songs? I think "Soon As I Get Home" and "I Remember " are mine. What about Bad Boy songs period?
