If you thought John Legend only works with the likes of Kanye West and Andre 3000 you might be surprised to hear that Legend recently spent some time in the studio working on a track for Rick Ross.

Unfortunately I can't post the song up -- yet. But I will tell you that I've heard it and it's simply magnificent.

Earlier this week, Legend unveiled the video for his song "Everybody Knows" off his latest album Evolver. Watch it now:

John Legend makes some AMAZING videos. You never see him do the same old thing and he uses images that people can relate to in order to tell stories we can all identify with. Anthony Mandler directed the "Everybody Knows" vid. For a minute there I thought John was gonna go the D'Angelo "How Does It Feel" route with this vid but he did something totally unexpected instead.

D'Angelo

Speaking of D'Angelo, earlier this week Billboard revealed that D will be collaborating with Prince on his highly anticipated comeback album James River which is due out this Summer via J Records. D'Angelo's manager, Lindsay Guion also stated that D'Angelo is teaming with Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo Green in addition to existing collaborations with Raphael Saadiq, Mark Ronson and Roy Hargrove..

Can you imagine what a Prince and D'Angelo collabo might sound like? It's gonna be bananas. Oh and I'll be the first in line for tickets to D'Angelo's upcoming tour (his first in years) which begins this Summer in Europe before hitting the U.S.

And it's Friday, so I have another mix for you guys. This one coming from my Rock Steady crew homie DV One . It's an instrumental set that will blow your mind.
