Aaliyah fans can begin the countdown for her biopic. Director Bill Condon has started talking about the project and is already comparing it to a critically acclaimed film about another late singer.

According to the NY Post's Pop Tracks blog:
We are going to great extremities to make this movie perfect. We have (Keisha) Chante in extensive training studying, speaking with family members, watching personal footage and in choreography training with Aaliyah's choreographer and dear friend Fatima Robinson. This movie will will be seamless the same way it was for Selena fans who enjoyed Jennifer Lopez," Condon said.

In case you forgot, Bill Condon is the same guy who directed Dreamgirls . And if you were wondering who this Keisha Chante is, she's a BMG recording artist who has been cast as Aaliyah.

Even I have to admit she bears more than a slight resemblance to Aaliyah, definitely more than Ciara or Megan Goode, who were both mentioned as possibilities for the role. In addition to Keisha Chante, choreographer Fatima Robinson, Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Ginuwine are also slated to be featured in the film, as is director Hype Williams who will recreate Aaliyah's final video shoot for "Rock The Boat."

I wonder if Damon Dash and Jay-Z will be mentioned in the script at all. This one has been a longtime coming. I hope they do her justice. R.I.P. Aaliyah! We miss you babygirl.

Also wanted to show you the February cover of Mexican GQ. Rihanna showing off her killer abs. I think I need to see some outtakes from the shoot though because RihRih hasn't had this hair in awhile. And come to think of it, were her abs looking this chiseled in the "Rehab" video? I'm wondering if this is a photoshop job. What do you think?

That's it for now .Talk to me y'all!

Looking forward to the Aaliyah biopic. I just hope they do a first-class job because that's what Aaliyah was. They should mention Dame because they were engaged.. Jay-Z is not so important.

OK...But the movie will not be that interesting if it doesn't go in detail on her relationships with Kells, Dame & Hova...Yes, I said Hov......
But RiRi, sure is fine as hell on that cover..

I hope they do Aaliyah justice too. I don't really know Keisha Chante but I hope she don't flake on the acting.

I cant wait for the Aaliyah movie (RIP Mama)...I think Keisha is a excellent choice. I to hope they give this movie justice..I dont think they will go into the whole Jay/Dame situation(if there was a situation)..

Keisha is from Canada so I am def. cool with that(Tornonto stand upahhaa)
She clearly can dance and has a great voices. Aaliyah was more of a performer not singer so I am sure Keisha can just take her pipes down a notch to match up with Aaliyah's vocals. I think if she can get her speaking voice swagger and dancing down ..she should be just fine

Keisha is a great choice, looks wise. I hope they keep it real with the movie and that Keisha does a good job. This one should be interesting.

she looks perfect. you have to see Rihanna's legs and she is a beautyful cover girl.
