Since Ne-Yo's video for "Mad" dropped this week I'm gonna give him a little extra shine by pitting him against former Pretty Ricky crooner Pleasure P

It's a busy Thanksgiving for SRC Music/Universal Motown artist Shontelle. Instead of traveling back to Barbados to spend time with family, Shontelle will be performing at today's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

With the official release date of Cadillac Records right around the corner the Beyonce media train is still rolling full speed ahead.  In case you missed it, Bey went on "Ellen" yesterday and surprise surprise, she talked quite openly about her marriage and relationship with Jay-Z, even disclosing information about their courtship and how he told her it was okay not to try to cook anymore after a few bad attempts.

Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo premiered his new video "Mad" on AOL's Boombox today... it's another black and white joint.

The album cover for Jamie Foxx's next project Intuition just hit the net. What do you think?

rihanna_ama.jpg

I promised you AMA Performance Videos, but I actually thought the fashion at the show was much more conversation worthy than the performances. Let's face it, those Jonas Brothers CANNOT sing, and if Kanye and Rihanna can is still up for debate.

The-Dream-music-u01.jpg

Last night, not long after determining The-Dream completely sullied Jazmine Sullivan's absolutely brilliant second single "Bust Your Windows," with his remixed version, my homegirl and I sat down to watch "The American Music Awards" and whaddya know but here comes The-Dream introducing Beyonce singing another of his bad creations (just jokes!...sorta) "Single Ladies".

Keri Hilson - Turnin Me On.jpg

There's nothing like a Friday VERSUS throwdown to get the weekend started right. Keri Hilson premiered her "Turnin' Me On" video ft. Lil' Wayne yesterday on BET's "106 & Park" while MTV first aired Rihanna's "Rehab" this Monday and Solange's "T.O.N.Y." video also made it's mark. So who did it best? You decide!
brandy1.jpg

If you hadn't noticed, the media has been going full press with Brandy, so I decided to dedicate Friday morning to her recent photoshoots, video shoots and interview snippets.  In addition to being on the cover of next week's Jet magazine, Brandy also managed to catch US Weekly's attention and sit down with Access Hollywood. Check out her answers about the impact of that fatal 2006 car crash on her life as well as her reasons for lying about being married...
Solange

It seems like forever since I posted the photos from Solange's "T.O.N.Y." video shoot so I'm not gonna delay the wait any longer.

It's that time yet again. Another week and another five songs that have found their way to my brain and just got stuck there.  Starting from the top we have the Queen Bey, Sasha Fierce. Whoever she is, it's her week so it would only be right that I start with the song I love the most off her album.
rihanna-gucci-ads.0.0.0x0.250x346.jpg

That Rihanna Gucci Ad I told you about the other day has finally hit the net.

AvantNew.jpg

Well damn, I knew Avant was a freak after he told my homegirl Angela Yee his secret fantasy on her "Lip Service" show, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised he's talking about breaking girls backs now.
bruthanew1.jpg

If you happened to tune in to BET for the premiere of the new season of Keyshia Cole's "The Way It Is" last week, you may have caught the sneak peek of another BET reality series "Brothers to BRUTHA" which tells the story of Def Jam's new brother act Brutha. The show follows 5 siblings, Grady, Anthony, Jacob, Poppa (Cheyenne) and Jared -- who range in age from 19 to 25 as they prepare for the release of their album debut.  I chopped it up with the Harrell brothers not long ago and got their take on what people can expect from their TV series as well as their self-titled album, due out just before Christmas.

I Am... Sasha Fierce lands in stores today. The big question is whether it will fly off shelves at lightspeed or not.  While I initially thought the idea of a double-album was too much, now I have to give Matthew Knowles his props, because based on that "Oprah" interview, Beyonce was dead set on recording the so-called "more personal" songs on I Am. For those who've already heard the deluxe edition, can you imagine if Bey dropped a regular length album with only those songs???

Today marks the premiere of Rihanna's new "Rehab" video featuring Justin Timberlake.  The full length video is set to be unveiled on MTV and MTV.com today.
beyonce-and-justin.jpg

One of my favorite duets in recent history is Justin Timberlake's "Until The End Of Time" featuring Beyonce, so I was thrilled to see the two together, not once but twice this weekend.  First both stars appeared on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend, then Sunday each showed up, albeit separately, for MTV's "TRL Total Request Live Finale".

After all she's been through recently, I was extremely happy to see Jennifer Hudson smiling again in her new GAP ad. The ad was actually shot this summer, long before Jen suffered the loss of three immediate family members and while the singer was given the option to back out of the ads, she decided to let the clothing company release them, despite what might seem like poor timing to some.

Last Monday November 10th the Ringleader, T-Pain himself performed a free show for his MySpace friends at the Hiro Ballroom in New York City. Many of hip-hop's biggest stars came out to support, so in honor of his special night, as well as the release of his new album THR33 RINGZ this week, I'm dedicating today's post to the many faces of T-Pain.  Enjoy!

This week Shawn Stockman dropped his own version of Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" so I figured what better match for VERSUS. It's been a minute since I did one of these, so I figured I'd double up and bring you two battles today...

This week's 5 Songs I Can't Get Out of My Head is the Single Edition -- all about those folks still on the prowl. The theme started out unintentional, but since the first two songs set the tone I decided to run with it. Check out my 5 for the week and leave your own...
Rihanna

I tried my best not to join the Rihanna bandwagon, but I have to admit, she's a baaaaaad b*tch... That said, it's looking like work on her fourth album is underway.

Solange

Solange is moving up in the world. Last night the eccentric songstress showed up on the ABC Family show "Lincoln Heights" to perform for their prom episode.

So either Whitney Houston is definitely making a comeback, or somebody is having a heck of a time with Photoshop.  This image of Whitney's rumored upcoming album cover recently hit the net, and I have to say -- either Clive Davis called in the Don Dada of airbrushing or Ray J had Lil' Kim  help with the wardrobe styling. Or maybe both.  Who knows.

South African singer Miriam Makeba died of a heart attack Sunday night after giving a concert in Italy. She was 76.

Beyonce_96.jpg

Beyonce/Sasha Fierce fans are in luck.  Beyonce is premiering I AM...SASHA FIERCE in full on MySpace Music beginning tomorrow, free of charge, a full week before the official release date. I'm taking bets now on which disc will be more popular (my money's on Sasha!)
Keyshia Cole

With her new album A Different Me slated to hit stores December 16th Keyshia Cole is sitting pretty on the cover of the current issue of music industry trade mag Billboard. Inside, the singer gives some insight to the upcoming project as well as a biopic in the works. Read more below:
nina-sky.jpg

Their sophmore album The Musical has been a long time coming, but despite a major label shift (from Universal to Polo Grounds/J Records) their patience and perseverance has paid off. With the project scheduled for release in the early months of 2009,  identical twins Natalie and Nicole Albino, better known as Nina Sky are a duo I definitely have my eye on.  I did a little "Rebel Talking" with the ladies about their career and project. Check out my Q&A below:
R. Kelly

R. Kelly's 15-year-old nephew Brandon Kelly was shot in the chest after a robbery attempt in Chicago on Thursday. Brandon Kelly was shot around 4 p.m. after Chicago police say he attempted to rob a barbershop.

beyonceema.jpg

Beyonce hit the MTV EMA stage to perform "If I Were A Boy" Thursday in the UK.  And with I Am... Sasha Fierce just a mere 11 days from release, how could I resist posting it?
beyonce-instyle-november-2008-02.jpg

Leave it to our favorite girl Beyonce to find a way to get involved in Obama's inauguration.  Beyonce showed her allegiance to Obama alongside fellow stars like Diddy, Mary J. Blige and hubby Jay-Z earlier in the week, and now that the Obamas are heading to the White House you know Bey is ready for her invite!

It's Thursday, time for a new edition of 5 Songs I Can't Get Out My Head. This week is theme free, just the five songs both new and old that I still can't shake.
Amy Winehouse

As his wife prepares to follow up her hugely successful Back to Black album, Blake Fielder-Civil was released from Pentonville Prison today after almost a year.
beybey2.jpg

I hope Beyonce is too overjoyed about Barack's victory to be upset about her album leaking because the standard edition of I Am... Sasha Fierce is currently all over the internet.

the-rose-experience-cover.jpg

Case has been busy blogging about the election.  I thought I'd share his post from this morning, which he says comes from an email he recently received.
freedomalbumcover1(2).jpg

It's election day, what we've been gearing up for all year. Hopefully you all registered in time and won't have any problems at the polls today if you haven't already voted. It sounds like Akon is among the many praying for Obama to win. The Senegalese born star recently stated that he will renounce his US citizenship and leave the country if John McCain wins this presidential election.

While six of the "Rock Witchu Tour" dates she postponed have yet to be rescheduled, Janet Jackson's first tour in seven years might just be a wrap.  The singer hit Madison Square Garden on Saturday (11/1) for the last show she has announced thus far.

With her greatest hits collection Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits set for release n a couple of weeks, Christina Aguilera is already looking towards the future. The singer recently discussed plans for her next studio album, which will largely be produced by Linda Perry, the songwriter/producer who worked with Aguilera on new material and remixes on Keeps Getting Better.
