New Musiq Soulchild Cover, Who Is Sasha Fierce? Solange Joins Beyonce On Tour + Downloadable Mix From DJ Jaycee

What do you think of the cover though? I wonder if Musiq is self-conscious about pictures -- that's kinda what I'm picking up from the sunglasses and side profile pose. And what's up with his album and songtitles being run on sentences? Think about it -- Aijuswanaseing, Juslisen, Soulstar, Luvanmusiq, "Halfcrazy," "Dontchange", "Forthenight," "Whoknows," "Teachme," "Makeyouhappy," "IfULeave" -- I guess that's sposed to be his signature thing. Wow Musiq. You're so creative.




Would you believe I actually have more Beyonce news to report to you? I feel like I'm repeating the same information over and over, but then I realized we are talking about Beyonce here (sorry stans). Homegirl had a listening Wednesday night in NYC. A good number of my friends were in attendance and they said expect more of the same, just even further crossover/pop than she was before. They also told me that while it's not a perfect album, it's solid and the stans should be plenty happy.

So I've been calling the project I Am but from here on out the upcoming Music World/Columbia Records full-length double album will be referred to as I Am... Sasha Fierce, which is mighty drag queenish of Queen Bey, if I do say so myself, but I guess everybody gotta let their inner tranny out sometime -- not just Solange. Here's what Mrs. Carter nee Knowles had to say about the album:

"The new record is a double album and has two covers, like a magazine would have two covers," Beyoncé revealed. "One of the covers is named I Am... and the second cover is named Sasha Fierce. That is my alter ego and now she has a last name. I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am. That's why half the record, I Am..., is about who I am underneath all the makeup, underneath the lights, and underneath all the exciting star drama. And Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage. The double album allows me to take more risks and really step out of myself, or shall I say, step more into myself, and reveal a side of me that people only know me see."

 Daddy Matthew Knowles spoke to Billboard about the project, saying: "Beyonce was adamant -- and she has complete creative control -- about dividing her songs. She felt she couldn't mix the songs together. She's in a much different space now than she was one year ago. She's married and in a really good place and this album reflects that."

 Songs on Beyoncé's I Am... include "If I Were A Boy," "Halo," "Disappear," "Broken Hearted Girl," "Ave Maria," and "Satellites." Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce performances include "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," "Radio," "Diva," "Sweet Dreams," and "Video Phone." Bey wrote all the songs except "If I Were A Boy," which (as you already know) was written by Toby Gad and BC Jean. I Am... Sasha Fierce is Executive Produced by Beyoncé Knowles and Mathew Knowles for Music World Productions, Inc. Bey and her alter ego's album comes out November 18th.

Hmmm, wonder if she has a third personality that comes into play when Hov is putting in work? Just being facetious!!!



And lest she get cold in big sis' shadow, Solange is jumping aboard the bandwagon next year for a sisterly tour. The Rap-Up reports that the 110-date world tour will touch down in such countries as Canada, Europe, the U.S., Mexico, South America, Japan, Africa, and Australia. The U.S. dates include a one-week stand in Las Vegas. Reports suggest that following the main show with Beyonce, fans will have access to an official after-party where they can see Solange perform at a smaller venue.
