If you're into a free show, you might be interested in hearing that MySpace Music is bringing out R&B crooner Raphael Saadiq to sing to his Los Angeles fans tomorrow night. Saadiq will be performing a free show for his MySpace friends at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood, CA, on Friday, September 19 - for a powered by AT&T. Showtime for the all-ages show will be at 8 p.m. and admittance will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. You know what that means - get there early!

Last but not least. Rest in Peace to Motown legend Norman Whitfield, who passed away earlier this week (September 16). A producer and songwriter Whitfield is best known for his work with acts including the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight & the Pips and Rose Royce among others on songs including "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," "Just My Imagination (Runnin' Away With Me)" and "Car Wash."

"Norman Whitfield was one of the most prolific songwriters and record producers of our time," Motown great Smokey Robinson said via statement. "He will live forever through his great music."

Whitfield was 68. He suffered from diabetes, and according to reports, had recently suffered a coma.
