Canada has long been revered for soulful imports like Deborah Cox and Tamia but there are is a fresh crop of talent I've been watching and I gotta tell ya, I like what I see.

First up to bat, Edmonton, Alberta native Kreesha Turner is already being touted as the "Canadian Rihanna".  Signed to Capitol Music/EMI Kreesha has had two singles chart in Canada so far, "Bounce With Me" and "Don't Call Me Baby".

Another one on my radar is singer Ayah Yousef, a Toronto resident of Middle Eastern descent.  I got my hands on her "Problem Woman" mixtape and really felt it, particularly because the tape includes interview footage where Ayah offers some really intelligent, outspoken views on social issues and culture.  Check her out below:

"Pusha Man" ft. Tona (warning, there is a little cursing at the end of the video)

Last but not least is my girl reppin T-Dot Zaki Ibrahim, who has shown up on some of the DJ Ohsokool mixes that I've posted over the last few months.  Her second EP Eclectica has been in frequent rotation on my ipod lately.  Here's a look at the EP preview:
