The Game ft. Keyshia Cole "Game's Pain"
Mary J. Blige "Stay Down" I hate the fashion show, but I love the woman wearing the clothes

Ayo Soul Rebel,
Just out of curiousity have you heard of a dude from Canada by the name of Remy Shand? His first (and only album to my knowledge) came out a few years ago...kinda like some Al Green/ Old school type ish. Anyway, the album was great to me...but I haven't heard anything from him since. Just wondering if you knew what happened to him by chance...same deal with RES. If you know whether or not they're coming out with any new projects, please let me know.
That being said...here's my top 5:
5. Slum Village - Climax, Star, Tainted, S.O.U.L. (I know it's four tracks...but who cares...nice)
4. Estelle - Come Over (nice reggae roots groove...takes me back to when I used to live in Jamaica)
3. Esthero f/ Brandy - Believer (I only found a snippet of this song..but Brandy and Esthero together is a good mix...real smooth...and Brandy does her thing with the vocal production)
2. Stacy Clark - Closer (real smooth mellow electronica groove)
1. The Roots - Rising Down (the entire album...tight tight work)
here are mt Five.
5.Faithfully -Common
4. war is neccesary- Nas

@Adrian,
I felt the same way about Remy Shand at first . I actually didn't like the album until about year-and-a-half after getting it. But now I love it...especially "The Way I Feel", "Take A Message", and "Burning Bridges." Some albums you love right off the bat, others need a maturation period lol.
I just did some research and I found out RES formed a group with Talib Kweli called Idle Warship. Thanks for the info about the new album...I gotta find it and check it out.
I'll be sure to check out that Musinah chick too.
Hey guys,
Sorry for the delayed response I was flying this morning! Music Man I definitely remember Remy Shand -- will have to do some digging to see what he's up to. Res is still making music -- she's had a song or two come out of her project with Talib Kweli and I know Kerry "Krucial" Brothers has been working with her -- I'm planning to put up some info from my interview with him tomorrow.
You should know that Santi White -- the talented songwriter that wrote a lot of Res' material has a project out now as an artist -- she goes by the name Santogold -- I've posted the vid for LES Artistes before here
@Soul Rebel,
Cool Cool...I appreciate the updates...Thanks.
That's funny I had no idea that Santogold wrote for RES. I was just checking out some of her music the other day. She's got some dope music...different..but still cool.
I'm really glad to see folks feeling Esthero --- I love her :-)
