SMH @ Cee-Lo "The Bride"...Considering how many comments I get on the regular complaining about the stagnant cookie cutter state of music I guess a Gnarls Barkley post is long overdue. They've been coming out of left field since their first album, but their latest joint didn't seem to be making quite the splash they're used to. Well I caught a glimpse of their video for "Goin' On" and after having their CD for over a month now -- it inspired me to go back and listen again. I'm loving the new video, which was shot in Jamaica by Wendy Morgan. You gotta take a look.
Loves It. Obviously you could never expect an average r&b video from Gnarls -- who I know stretch beyond the boundaries of r&b anyway -- though you can't deny their soulfulness. Who picked up The Odd Couple? Which joints are you feelin'?
Just for old times sake I gotta post my fave Cee-Lo Green joint.
Can't deny them Timbaland drums... Holla!
Aight y'all enjoy your weekend...

Gnarls Barkley refuse to walk the middle line and it seems to pay off when they collect a following which bridges the gap between wild-out soul and that 'WTF?' type feel. At the first listen of their album I was left thing 'WHAT?' - but they groove is kinda organic and grows on ya. Cool! 'Kinda appreciate the freshness of their thing.
Hey SoulRebel & Peps - I caught Erykah Baudu last night (NY - Radio City Hall) and that chick ripped it! Roots heated up the stage - their guitarist/soul back up was OFF THE CHAIN! Dude sho' can key that gat and sang! Ms Badu was svelt, sexy and straight up FIYA!!! A cool blend of her old skool bangers and her Nu Amerykah funk/Soul. Sghe mentioned being 10 years in the business - give me 20+ more!
It's always great when an R&B video is filled with beautiful dark-skinned Black folk. Gotta love it!
Great videos
I'm a huge fan of Gnarls Barkley. They are a very necessary group. Hope they'll be around for a long time. You guys have to see them live. Dope.

I like the "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" track about addiction. Very bluesy and soulful and the lyrics conveyed the pain and struggle behind the subject.
I love Gnarls, they're are fresh and cutting edge. Who's Gonna Save My Soul is my favorite as well. Their stuff has to marinate on ya before you really get hooked and get their creativity. Hot video, those dances are crazy. LOL
Wow glad to see some folks not sleepin on Cee Lo and Dangermouse. "She Knows" is great, "Charity Case" is actually pretty cool. I like their new album it seems darker and more organic--less hip hop tho i will say that.
