Hot Boys: Chris Breezy Covers Ebony, Young Steff Gets Professional and Usher "Flashes"

Hot Damn. Haven't bought Ebony in a minute, but this might just be the thing to make me pick it up. Might as well post "Forever" while I'm at it since the cover makes the excellent point of asking what is Black music.
I am really feeling the new single Professional from Richcraft/Atlantic Records artist Young Steff... My boy Chase N. Cashe produced it. [Click here to listen] His debut album is due out September 16th.
And Ush has a new song "Flash" ft. Pharrell
I hope this joint isn't done yet cuz as it is -- it ain't doing nothing for me!
What do y'all think tho -- you feelin Young Steff? Should Chris Brown have left that AutoTune alone? Am I buggin about the new Usher joint? Talk to me y'all!

Young Steff sounds like every other male R&B artist that's out. There's nothing unique about his voice or this song "Professional". Usher, Omarion, Chris Brown, Mario, J. Holiday, or NeYo could of sang this song...it's the same shit! If you hadn't told me it was Young Steff, I would of thought is was NeYo or J. Holiday...HipHop and R&B are dead. The game needs some new songwriters and producers...everybodies riding eachothers coat-tails. There's nothing refreshing hitting the airwaves or the Net. We continue to get the same B. Cox, Dark Child, The Clutch, Tricky and The Dream behind the scenes collaborations. O' well, I guess I'm a hater now.

I don't think the Soulful column has fallen off at all. It is not easy to come up with freshness everyday to feed the hungry masses. Hmmm...I wouldn't say Young Steff is a force and all that, but he's not terrible. I do OCCASSIONALLY bump that song he has produced by Rich Harrison or whatever. He's just not a stand out artist. Even his promo pic could've been anybody else. His voice is typical and I think R&B has worn out the "girl you look good and I wanna hit" theme. I mean WORN IT OUT!! That said, good luck to him but he might wanna try a different angle to his music or he's going to blend in with the Trey Songs/Bobby V./J. Holiday crowd and flop.(PS: I thought J. HOliday was going to make waves but his album was too Thug&B for most people)
