Thanks Soul Rebel.

I've been waiting on some new Dwele music for a while now, and I'm a fan of Hil St. Soul too.

...never heard of Peter Hadar, but I'll be sure to check out his music too.

Welcome to yesterday.

Hil St. Soul isn't new. You just now finding out about her?

Here is a list of other artists that you should know about to do your job - but probably dont:

Conya Doss, Gaelle
Sara Taraves, Sy Smith
Kindred the Family Soul, Elisabeth Withers, Ayo
Ledisi, Lizz Wright
Van Hunt, Keite Young
Santogold, Raul Midon
Concha Buika, Alice Smith
Kevin Michael, Fertile Ground

Step your game up. This blog held so much promise a year ago.

Ummmm i dont know what sponsor is talking about but i think Soul Rebel is doing a BETTER job. I dont remember soulman bringing us this much new neo soul ever. I love it. Thanks for the Dwele update, thats my dude.

@the sponsor

yea you named some great artists (that conya doss is her best album to date, the keite young and santogold is hotness) but you failed to realize that soulrebel is doing an outstanding job!

@The Sponsor...Where did Rebel say that Hil St. Soul was new or that she JUST found out about them? She was basically letting us know that their new album "Black Rose" is coming this summer. IMO, this blog has gotten quite better since Soulman left. Couldn't stand him. As a matter of fact, this is the only decent (and probably the best) blog on the website.

I co-sign the above 3 posts. Soulman was cool, but Soul Rebel is doing great (much much better) with this blog.

Did I step into the Grown Folks Room... good blog.

good post

@The Sponsor

Ive been spinning those artist you mentioned since their formative and demo years. The difference with me is - I don't walk around handing out late passes.

SR is doing a good job in terms of balancing old SOHH Soul readers with music they are accustomed to (Michelle Williams, Cherish) and attracting new readers such as myself.

Do YOU have a blog, or media outlet (radio, tv, print) to push these artists?

If not, insert cricket sounds here....

Hi y'all - ditto to what everyone else had to say regarding the blog, it has most def stepped up. Keep doing the do Rebel. And for those interested, you can check out a feature that I did with Sy Smith on my blog www.soulafrodisiac.blogspot.com you will find it in the April archives.

dwele has a something we need in music full stop...its soul..why do you think common always works with him??i mean dwele debut album subject was a classic!!...we need 2 start fukin with some real music!!

Dwele's album is gonna be fiyah!! He hasn't disappointed with any of his releases!

Dwele is cool but a little to laid back with the vocals, he just seems there but never commanding my attention so I can't really get into him. But he does have some nice grooves. I love Hil St. Soul, she can sing her ass off and just deliver a total atmosphere. I wanna call her the british Jill Scott but that might be pushing it LOL. Yes, Soul Rebel you have made this blog worth checking out everyday. Soulman got on my damn nerves too Eleanor and I'm so GLAD he is finally gone. May Soul Rebel never leave us and continue to bring us those hot ass mixes. LOL

if you don't know about Peter Hadar , take a second to get to know him .. he's coming out with a new record this june and surely won't dissapoint!

Everyone loves the dwele!

That Peter Hadar's 'Painted' is Fire,I like the track and his voice. Finally something different than the watered down R&B being forced down our throats! He has some more hot songs on his MySpace. Thanks for the connect!
