Leona Lewis' album Spirit comes out in the US today. The UK is all abuzz about whether it will debut at #1 here -- I don't know about all that but I'm crossing my fingers for her. Nothing like some fresh meat to keep the music industry lively right?
Mariah Carey leaked this weekend -- hopefully it won't hurt her too badly since the album comes out next week anyway.
I already listened to my promo copy and I have to give Mimi a glowing review... She doesn't babytalk her way through the whole album and she even hits the dolphin notes a few times. My faves so far are "Cruise Control" which features Damian Marley (love me some Junior Gong), "For The Record" and "I Wish You Well".
Here's a link to her next single "Bye Bye"
Mariah's also giving away performance tickets to winners of her contest (click here for details).
I wanted to share this video interview with Mariah's "Touch My Body" songwriter Cri$tyle
Cri$tyle also penned "Cruise Control", produced by Jermaine Dupri and "Love You Long Time", produced by DJ Toomp and "Heat", produced by Will.I.Am, on E=MC².
Songwriter Cristyle aka "The Ink" has written for Janet, Jennifer Lopez, Tiffany Evans, Teyana Taylor, Keke Palmer and Natasha Bedingfield among others and is currently in the studio with Brandy, Beyonce and Chilli.
Yep. Chilli.
Check out their song "Dumb Dumb Dumb"
Not bad, but damn, isn't Chilli a little old to be messing with "dumb" guys?
What do you think of Chilli's new track? Can Leona hit #1 on the US album charts? How much do you think the leak will hurt Mariah? Are y'all checkin for Cri$tyle? Talk to me y'all!

forget leona lewis, check out Duffy for some real music. Duffy's "Rockferry". Mariah crafted a hot ass album, with crazy cuts such as Cruise Control, I Stay In Love, Thanx 4 Nothin, That Chick. Less Filler, Better Connected Colloborations and Top-Notch Production.
I dunno what the buzz is about this Leona Lewis chick
Chilli too old to b doin that lollipop sh*...oooh on the tlc..not!
Naw...gona take another breakdown to trainwreck MC's album success...and she aint looking like th@ gona happen anytime soon.
Now th@'s what I been waiting 4 from the 'behind the scene RNB/Soul women'...Cri$tyle talk like she her shit...& girl sho' does! She got miles of relevant names to rattle off and I bumps with most the joints she put pen 2 paper on! FIYA Baby!!! I wish Cri$tyle continued success!!!
Dumb Dumb Dumb has a good vibe - me likey likey!!!
Its good to see, new writers in the music game. Good luk to cristyle. Chilli dont look old, she look fine! The record is definitely a summer smash!
Chilli look fine! Song is summer smash. These two chicks may have one...I know a few dumb dumb heffers. Mimmi wont lose.
The track is crazy on Dumb...the hook is catchy and funny...poor Maneka
What's going on Rebel girl!
I'm not checking for that English chick. The English suck, and so do women.
Mimi's album is strictly download material. I don't know what her people were thinking, but she Ashante's this whole album. I'm surprised the old slore can still sing period with all the babies she has swallowed over the years. Her throat must be a nursery.
Chili is 10 years past her prime and needs to cash in her 401K. It looks like she would make a great middle school teacher though.
Chile, i see your doing a great job with Soulful since Soulman put his thing in it. But ATL and Ya Heard is still 10 times better. I put my thing in it everytime i touch the keyboard.
I like the song by Chilli it's a good look for her, and ain't Usher to old to be singing about Love in the club, and ain't Mariah to old to be singing Touch my Body? GO Chilli, cuz Usher is a dumb dumb dumb look who he married.
Got that Mariah this weekend... LOVED IT. It's better than Emancipation of Mimi. There is more variety and it doesn't drag in the middle like Mimi. She successfully experiments with a reggae joint and gospel and her hip-hop contributions don't sound forced. I love this album and have been listening to it over and over. Fav tracks:Bye Bye, I Wish You Well, and Love Story
Mimi sales won't suffer from this leak. But quite frankly..I think it should.
I don't dislike Mimi but I am getting a little tired of folks praising this chick as if her music is so innovative. I heard E=MC2 and while it's not bad..it certainly isn't great. Any one of those tracks could have been on Emancipation, Charmbracelet, Rainbow, etc. There is no growth where her music is concerned. I know the Mariah fans are going to disagree but I need some Mimi fans that can be objective about this topic instead of those who cherish her and don't want to admit the truth. Nonetheless she will sell big numbers simply because she is coming off a successful cd, E of Mimi. Which in my opinion also was just a good cd. Even JD and MC admitted themselves that when they were creating E of Mimi they didnt come with anything different that time around.
As for Leona..I'm curious to hear her joint. Im desperate for a breath of fresh air. Even if it's coming from across the pond.
I think Mariah has reached a point though where we can only expect so much change. There was growth from say Mariah Carey through Daydream but I think at a certain point an artist is established and doesn't have to prove much. This is not an excuse for not making good music and being innovative but I don't expect some cutting edge new shit from Mimi. I felt the same way about the Breakthrough by Mary. Mariah is staying in her lane and making great music. She is not Madonna and we shouldn't expect her to flip her style dramatically. And I still honestly felt there was a little experimentation on this album with the reggae song and gospel-ish song.
I see your point CG. And I do respect that. I think Mariah's switch from Pop to R&B back in the day was her only change. I am definitely not suggesting that she re-invent herself like Madonna and go into some other genre of music but I would hope that being such a veteran in the game it would allow for her to experiment a little more than just attempting to sing with a Caribbean accent on a hook or two. And I don think this is the first time Mariah gave us Gospel. On EOM, Fly Like A Bird was a Gospel-type track. I dont know. Maybe my expectation is too high where the artist who have been around for years is concerned. Touch My Body at the end of the day is just another snap song which, dare I say is 'dead' like crunk.
Leona is alright, but in this fickle music industry there has to be something interesting about you. I wouldn't be surpised if she ended up being a one-hit wonder here in the U.S. // I'm not sold on this Cristyle yet either. Out of all the songs she's written so far I only like Mariah's 'I'll Be Loving U Long Time" (what a title, rite?) and Janet's So Much Betta. But, I'll give her time.//Mariah's album is decent, but I think she needs to drop JD. Its his production that makes most of her work sound the same. There were a few tracks that sounded like leftovers from one of her other albums.// Chilli's song is dumb, dumb, dumb, but she'll never be too old old to talk about dumb guys and scrubs imo. Madonna has done the same ish for 20 years, but because she repackages it, she is suddenly reinventing herself and doing something new. ..Lame.
i agree totally with Cri$tyle, keep the good music comin and im lovin that chilli song, and leona lewis should do pretty well on the chart, by the way check out this music blog: http://djtriumph.blogspot.com
PB, your full of contradictions. I admit I am a fan of hers but I shun at people who suggest she do something out of the extraordinary to enhance her appeal, dance or pick up an instrument. Her voice is her instrument none like no other and she relies on this and her song writing heavily both in terms of artistic and market growth . You cannot deny that and her ability both to effortlessly flow from register to register, breathy to full stretch. Ballads and uptempo RnB have been her bread and butter for years and yet still she remains relevant despite her many years in the industry, apparent failures, innuendos. I mean that’s her niche, and she would be alienating a lot fans if she went too radical because it would not be compatible with her personality. She is not the same person she was before. She is no longer that shy, recluse artist that wasn’t sure of herself and her looks. From adult contemporary to pop to Rnb/Hip Hop is a gradual progression, both reflective of the evolving nature of music and market forces and fans in general. I think you’re taking this a bit too literally aren’t you? I mean I dont get the logic here. You don't rate her talents over today's artists? You dont rate someone's ability to really sign over those that can't? I dont get what you're really trying to say here and frankly I don't think you have a clue what you are trying to say either. Who says an artist has to reset trends and craft classic albums after classic albums. The strain would get to all of them. I respect what she has done in the past and the catalogue of songs she has done but in equal measure I appreciate that plus she has made it known from the beginning of the genesis of this album that it was meant to be fun. Despite the title of the album, if you really get down to the nitty gritty, there still exists a deep hurt and longing within Mariah which manifest in songs such as I Stay In Love, Side Effects and I Wish You Well. These are not only merely scathing attacks but go to mention that she still is human after all and feels and breathes like anyone else. On the outside the façade is one of a confident and maybe overly played out diva persona, but deep down inside her music reveals the truth behind the laughs and the stilettos . Herein lies the growth for me. In my opinon, E=MC2 is better than The Emancipation of Mimi. As far as I am concerned, if you was really desperate for a breath of fresh air and had an intent to do so, you would have turned off the radio and checked out Leona Lewis long before you commented prematurely
I'm a huge fan of Mariah, but I try to stay objective. The new album is great and I think she sounds more relaxed on this one comparing to TEOM. I didn't like couple songs from TEOM and here I enjoy almost all of them. Mariah tries to push herself to new stuff, but come on... She is Mariah and someone wrote here that it is like with Mary - you know what you can expect from them. I'm happy that she has had her time of change with Butterfly, because some of similar singers like Whitney or Celine didn't change at all - all the time hitting high notes with powerful ballads. Madonna is different type of singer - she has to change a lot because she doesn't have a powerful voice and I think she is totally different person. Imagine Mariah doing rock sounds so tacky so it is good that she stays honest to her roots. And Leona - well I like her also - she sounds so much like Mariah and Whitney altogether:) But this is not NEW, creative - she uses her voice as Mariah did when she started... So I don't get the whole comparison to her because she's been there and done this already. Her music is fresh because she is new to the show bizz that's all.
Sorry for my English, but this is not my first language;]
i agree with VIA, spoke a lot fo truth even if English is not your first language, by the way check out Nelly's NEW Video Party People ft. Fergie: http://djtriumph.blogspot.com
See this is exactly the kind of back and forth I was not looking to have on this topic. I knew a MC fan would think I am just spitting hate when I do like MC and respect her place in the game.
Viciuzurban I am not in anyway attacking MC's vocal ability. If you read what I wrote you would note my issue here is sound not talent. Yes, I agree with you that she is a songstress but in no way am I suggesting that MC 'do something out of the extraordinary to enhance her appeal, dance or pick up an instrument.' My issue is production. The songs on this cd sounds just like the songs off her last cds. Is there something wrong with wanting to hear something different (which shows growth) when you buy a cd from the same artist time and time again. If MC is so talented where music writing is concerned (and I do believe she is)..I would expect something a little different from her with each cd and not the same words/themes just being paraphrased.
'You don't rate her talents over today's artists? You dont rate someone's ability to really sign over those that can't?'
I dont believe in rating any artist up against anybody else. That's just me. You are clearly one of those fans that will jump on the band wagon of who ever can hold the better note. So if someone gets a deal tomorrow who can outsing MC I guess that person will become your all time favorite?
As my first comment said..I want to have dialogue with a fan who can offer something objective vs. just bigging up every song on the cd because thats what you have been proned to do over the years.
And your comment about Leona is senseless because I heard Leona long before making my comment. I heard her single..not the whole cd. So thats what I was referring to when I said a breath of fresh air.
Yeah you seem to struggle to understand what I was saying because anything that is not a compliment in your eyes of MC is confusing to you. I get it..you are a fan. Plain and simple.
i just downloaded mariah's new album on torrentsonly.com it's just ok not somthin i wud bother buying from the stores
Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse & Mary are makin better music than Mariah
i've got the album al i can say's stil the same mariah almost like her last album but it's boring as news people b waistin' ya money goin' 2 get it no joke it's waste
i agree witchu moresickamc mariah's not at her best amy, mary.j, janet and aliciakeys doin better
stoney-brie says...
it's just ok
^^^^
I agree. It's ok. And thats not a bad thing. But I'm glad someone can say that vs. saying:
"OMG! It's great! Did you hear how she 'effortlessly flowed from register to register, breathy to full stretch'."
To which I want to respond:
Yeah thats great..but didn't she do that on the last cd to the same beat while singing the same words.
mimi's been gettn a lota praise latley it's really brain damaging that her latest is the most boring album she'z ever done but i got my pick i like - byebye, and touch my body the rest is like b-sides that were left from her recent eras i think miss janet did a lot better job mariah is a better singer but janet's melodies r hot 4 sure it's about time mariah flops nd this time it's a right reason. mary.j amy, janet, alicia, madonna and the new leona deserve the praises.
I must admit I am a Mariah Lover but I ain't no blind follower. Mimi's album is cool - to be honest I prefer Mary's album to her. I am going to download Mimi for sure. Her last CD was good too but I must say that she has kinda got trapped in this neverending cycle of itty bitty clothes and the ditzy act. Like Madonna is cool and everything but how long are you going to walk around have nekked feeling on yourself. Artist get stuck and that's cool but when you get stuck expect your fanbase to change also. No hate, just my opinion.
Leona Lewis has a pretty cool voice. I have heard about 3 tracks from her. She a tad boring but her material sound like Early & New Mariah mixed with a dash of English accent. She is cool people.
Has anyone heard of this chick that sings this song called "Mercy" she sounds like a sober Amy Winehouse?
thank u pageblack it's good 2 b honest just like mariah she speaks her mind now hw bout we her latest som' feedback don't call me a mimi hater but people shud b tied of her style it's time 2 do b real coz al that faking a stupid swagger n attitude of mimi its gettin' borin'
LMAO @ how the same people who stan for Janet are asking Mariah to mix it up! LOL. 91 Mariah Carey and 2008 Mariah are two different people (personally) but musically also. Janet stay mumbling and whispering about sex and dancing. whatever! LMAO
Pop....hip-hop...gospel....classic r'nb....reggae-lite... hmmm...and all that in one album.
the end of a relationship..being a a harmful relationship....silly love songs....Christian inspired messages///and all that in one album
Thats as much as she needs to mix it up and more than what Janet or Mary are doing (not to deny their talent, cos I stan for Mary). But like its been said, all these artists have to stick to a certain lane in order to A)continue their success B)stay true to themselves
it makes me laugh when these people say Mariah should mix it up. SO WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT THEN? AND NAME AN ARTIST WHO IS DOING THAT. YOU CAN'T. Amy's album was good but there was a consistent 'sound' to it throughout and her her last album was similar in content to her first. If you're just not feeling Mariah for whatever innate reason fine, you don't have to...but don't back it up wid BS like 'she needs to switch it up more'.
Cri$tyle seems very talented and extremely humble. I wish her all the best
Leona is a superb vocalist but her album is a ballad heavy snoozefest. She's new to the game so its expected she will be an industry puppet for now but she need to take creative control for her sophmore effort. Her songs pre-Spirit are actually pretty decent
I agree with u Stoney-Brie, Janet's melodies and HARMONIES are hot on the Discipline cd!! Mariah is too MALIBU BARBIE for my taste. All the songs sound the same on her cd. It is like one long megamix!!!
Back to Black blows E=mc2 out the water
Crystle is doing her thing props to her.As for the Mimi joint its seems personal mixed with fun. It's a decent effort in my opinion. I liked Amy's album. I liked some tracks on Mary's album.Did not really like Alicia or Janet's album.
hey la'shonda don call me jane's people coz i don hav a fav artist in the industry i love anybody tha comes with somethin' nice n fresh people shud tink twice if u have a fav artist that's when u start 2 b nice on negative sides mariah is a good artist none can replace her and that's how i feel bout mary, whitney and janet im not hatin' on anybody n not mariah but this time she shud try n mix it up it's sohh sad hw some flok keeps one artist in their good books al the time get th facts right jus 4 once

Aww...I knew this topic would eventually bring La'Shonda from out of her cave.
Notice how whenever someone mentions anything about Mariah the lambs are quick to start comparing her to other artist to validate her? You can't even defend Mariah w/o making comparisons. And that speaks volumes.
MC fans dont want to hold Mariah to the same standards you do any other artist that has been in the game this long? Why? Because she can hit certain notes. Whatever! If MC was putting out acapella CD's that would be one thing..but she isnt. So more about her body of work is to be looked at here and not just her vocal ability.
Pop....hip-hop...gospel....classic r'nb....reggae-lite... hmmm...and all that in one album.
It's sad that all of this is on the album as you say but the cd IS still just OK! That's a shame!
La'Shonda...if you gonna comeback..I dare you to do it without trying to name 5 other people to compare her to.
From an objective view of both Mariah and Janet, Mariah doesn't need to switch it up as much as she needs to update her sound. To me Jermaine Dupri is holding both of them back musically. Its funny because people wanted Janet to drop her long time producers when she should have dropped Jermaine. Even though he doesn't drop the ball and ruin Discipline like he did 20 Y.O., Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis would have been better for the slow songs because those Ne Yo joints were garbage in my opinion. // With E=MC2, those same familiar tracks aren't very different from the songs we're used to hearing from Mariah. Although there's nothing wrong with that, its gets old. Alot of producers have a signature sound where you can instantly tell who produced it, but even Timbaland updates his sound every now and then.
Why is it every time somebody mentions Mariah on this blog Janets name is mentioned? They are both great artist in completely different lanes. I'll never understand it. Anyway I still hold fast to my opinion that when an artist reaches a certain status and his been in the game 20 eleven years all I expect from them is solid good music. If it aint broke don't fix it. I can respect opinions that E=MC2 wasn't the greatest.
PB please don't twist my words around to justify what you're not saying. U wanted an objective and fairly reasonable intelligent conversation, I gave it you. No its not that plain and simple because I didn't come here to write something that i did not think about first and beforehand on a dated forum known for perpetual hating, you especially. And quit acting like every fan has a shrine dedicated to her. Even I am sane enough to see through that. You dont believe in rating an artist up against another? Hmmm seems like you have placing someone in a higher standard? And dont act like you go out and buy music from the same artist time and time again because you expect something different from them. This is not about going back and forth, you're just looking for yes yes people nodding their head whimsically all the time at everything you say. When someone rears from the script you get unsetlled, your ego lights up. U don't know me and never will so don't say that I jump on bandwagons. So if someone gets a deal tomorrow who can outsing MC I guess that person will become your all time favorite?
Wow I can't believe the amount of bs that comes out of your mouth. Once again the logic you use is ridiculous. Back to the real world.
Just as I thought. Just more bashing of Mariah but as usual Page Black you said nothing of any substance. You complain Mariah needs to mix it up more yet you STILL can't name a single artist who is successfully doing that better than Mariah. LMAO @ pure comedy at its best. I did justify Mariah based on the range in music styles and song content of her album (not even on the basis of her voice) So the album is OK according to who?? You and another lame Janet stan-LMAOOOOOOO. Tell that to the millions who will buy it and love it. I justified the album' worth in itself before I moved on to comment that no one out there is doing anything radically different from what they usually do AND YOU KNOW THIS! you're lame homes. hella lame
(I think we can safely say you are dismissed...but in case YOU attempt a comeback...try and justify your lame hating ass comments above rather than going for tired personal jabs) don't you have some Discipline copies you have to buy? heard your girl is struggling to make 500.000. LMAOOOOOOOOOO

All that mess you just typed is a complete disgrace. smh. The educational system is clearly failing our youth. So sad. Have you heard of grammar? Not to mention spelling. SMDH
Viciuzurban and La'Shonda...let me address you both.
V-
First of all, dont assume you know me either. I am not a hater on this site. I am just speaking my opinion which is what I thought the comment section was about. I could give a f- if anybody agreed with me or not. Nor am I taking any of this personal. So it's not necessary to take the conversation where you are going. I am not 'unsettled' or have any 'ego' issues as your last comment suggests.
Again, you dont know me so you dont know what I come to expect from an artist who have been in the game as long as MC. I have several of her cd's in my collection that I have bought (NOT DOWNLOADED) so my opinion on her sound holds just as much weight as anybody else's on here. Stop assuming everybody on here is a hating 2 year old that can't hold a conversation about music. If you wish to enlighten me based on your feelings about the artist...do so without all this xtra BS.
La'Shonda:
Don't sit up here and pose questions that you yourself dodge when you come on here spitting venom about other artist. You bring up things like record sales and #1 hits whenever someone is trying to talk about the music itself. Throwing darts at JJ might work if I was a DIE HARD that cant speak objectively about her. But im not. So can you come with something else as a response?
And please think before you write. You can be so dense at times. I purposely did not answer your question because that seems to be the only basis of your defense when it comes to MC. Your questions only further validates my point. "What other artist is doing this?" Does that matter? MC is a very talented artist and so if no one else (and I am not saying that is the case) is mixing it up..does that mean she should not? I quite frankly think she is too talented of an artist to be dumbing down her music and joining forces with the likes of T-Pain or putting out "snap" music ala JD. Yes it sells...but Im not buying.
ONCE AGAIN...MY OPINION.
0731, KSH and C.G...you three seem to be the only ones that got my point and was able to share your thoughts without all the extra. Thank you for addressing the topic at hand (the sound [production] and not MC's vocal/writing ability, style and/or sales) without feeling the need to throw digs at other artists to prove your point.
PB you are both a fool and as someone else already pointed out you are contradictory.
In one post you claim MC doesn't mix up her style and in the next you claim she is dumbing down ie. her music has CHANGED over the years (but you happen to think its for the worst). Yes her music has changed, she's changed her style from her earlier days ie. she's mixed it up and if you don't like it cry a river. You are unbelievably DENSE: my only defense of MC was not just in comparison to other artists. WITHIN THE ALBUM ITSELF THERE IS A SUFFICIENT RANGE OF CONTENT AND MUSICAL STYLE. and again you evaded my question: what would be mixing it up? Doing a whole different genre? Elaborate...you type an awful lot yet when you read over your posts (like the one immediately above) you'll realize you say a whole load of nothing apart from defensive nonsense aimed at other bloggers as opposed to justifying your point/BS.
You are a complete joke to me at this point. I would understand if your complaint was her failing live vocal ability, lack of stage presence or even that you simply just don't like her anymore. But to say she's not mixing it up enough? From her first album to this:she has mixed it up. From Charmbracelet to her last two albums: she has mixed it up. (if you think otherwise it means you're not really familiar with her body of work and you basis your broad generalisations on the comparatively little you have heard.Take a seat
LOL. This page would have 10x times the drama if Soulman still ran this piece. Sometimes I wonder if "La'Shonda" is actually Soulman in drag.

LMAO @ you desperately clutching at straws. Your comments are highly amusing. I especially like how you eliminated vocal/writin ability and even musical style (??) from the equation to make your point. WOW. So now you're saying your problem is with the person on the other side of the recording booth rather than Mariah herself? again WOW + LMAAAOOOOOO
That Leona Chick Has An AMAZING Voice..jus listened to her song and i was reallly impressed. hope her album is as good as that song. If it is, she'll be the best thing since T.V. Dinnaz..Ya dig.

You're an idiot plain and simple. And for the record, the album has leaked all over the internet and the response has be pretty much the same from everybody. Most folks are saying the album is just OK!
And correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you the same person saying that Janet needed to change up her style and do reinvent herself like MADONNA? Its funny, because now folks are saying the same thing about MC and you're trying to justify her stagnent style.
lashonda jus shut the fuck up don. b comin' 2 me bout education watchu kno bout education n by th way i'm us'n a lil bit-r formal language coz i aint gonna chat 2 peeps like i'm havin' ma first job interview first try shew what u say b4 u spit it out coz u might swallow it back when u get told b!tch

You wanna come at people about education because she can spell. But clearly failed reading comprehension.
Let me make you happy since false praises are the only comments you seem to be able to comprehend.
E=MC2 is the best cd ever! It's the greatest. Mariah is best in the world. She can do back flips with her tonsil and land in a split. Let's hope she continues to do the very same thing on her next 10 cds.
NOT!

PB, I can not take you seriously when you don’t even hold your own standards. Do you know how ridiculous and irrational you sound? U cannot back up anything you say or do. Its ok for you to give your opinion but when someone else does, you shut them down, why is it that? Its ok for you to throw around accusations in the process because of some monopoly you hold but not for others. Talk about calling the kettle black! Do you even know what objective means vs. subjective? I cannot have an objective debate with you when you cannot handle being critiqued (your approach is far from humorous) on your own opinion and then call people out for wanting an objective debate. There are always two sides, not just yours. Its about being fair. If you paid attention sometime, maybe you’ll learn something. Seriously this is not your forte. Go back and re-read my posts. If your entitled to your opinion, I am damn well entitled to mine too and so are others to express their opinions willingly and without vindictiveness. Don’t feel that you need to react to everything someone says. I understand its hard to resist the feeling but damn just let it be. The next time you listen to an artist, please focus on the collective, not just the buzz single (i.e. Leona). In the words of Mariah: For the record you are just frontin’; Production wise, how many artists do you know of that can utilize 10 producers (and herself) and still craft a fairly cohesive album wise? She just didn’t throw a bunch of producers together into the melting pot for no reason. There’s a level of intelligence, imagination and experience that comes into play here.
page black u right again lashonda u not worth it girl i understand ya love 4 mariah but stop being grummpy it's sad 2 look grummpy
aow don cry lashonda
Do you know how ridiculous and irrational you sound? U cannot back up anything you say or do.
^^^^^
I was beginning to think I was the only person who could see this.
lol@Lashoonda actin like Mariah has neva had weak a$$ albums. damn girl...ure stannin excessively...Mariah is human u know....?
In my opinion E=mc2 is an average album. some songs r good but some r weak as hell. e.g migrate, lol wtf? and o.o.c double wtf, lol?
aight...jus opinions girl
I am starting to like the leona lewis song, but I think her album might put me to sleep. Her production sounds sort of dated at times. And to everyone falling out about Mariah...ya'll need to stop. When it comes down to it none of ya'll are being paid to advise Mariah on her music and the other half are not being paid to kiss her ass. I personally love the album (it's better than Emancipation IMO), and it contains two songs that will probably be thought of as her best ish (Loving You Long Time/Wish You Well). I have already pre-ordered the album, and will probably be purchasing the Deluxe Edition. It's good to see people fighting about Mimi's music. It could be worse, people could not care at all.
I finally heard Leona Lewis album and I must admit the girl can sing.I don't feel it's a breath of fresh air. Other than Bleeding Love I was very bored. As for E=MC2 after listening to it I have to say I enjoyed more than one track. I have to say Mimi seems carefree and confident which speaks volume. For me I am feeling Cruise Control, I stay in Love, Side Effects I'll be Lovin you a Long time, Thanx 4 nothin, For the record, and I wish you well and that chick. But overall I have to agree with most of the critics and say this a good album. I will support April 15th as well.
E=MC2 is a good album and I just don't understand the mix it up a bit part. Can someone please explain exacty what they mean by that.
Like La'Shonda said name one artist that mixes it up. I think the album os better than a whole lot of the crap that's out now.
Then we wonder why the music industry is in a ongoing slump. Everyone is a critic of some sort, give Mimi a break
oh timza bab do u mean peeps shud giv mimi a break for al th praisin' that she'z been gettin' 4 nothin' mimi's new album is honestly not good she's doin' the same thing everytime it's about time she showed her true self all over again coz she don have a place in r'n'b divas mary, janet and whitney
Everybody complaining Mimi should do this and that when most of the industry is sticking to their winning formula even the big divas. If you guys check the reviews on Mimi's new record the record seems to be getting great reviews more than the last album so to me it must mean she is doing something right to entertain. I bet Whitney album will have the same big ballad records and a little pop to mix it up and the people will love her same as they did 10 years ago. In conclusion let the music speak for its self if you agree support if not look the other way.
I just want to say BIG ups to Janet,Mariah,Madonna,Whitney I hope they all do well because the are true artist who help mold the sound and image of what the kids are doing today! They have not let age factor into the fact that they are artist,,you never stop being a artist because you grow older and if lena horne made a song called put your botty in the air go girl maybe thats what she is feeling! Music is Music not to be read into by who u feel they look, age and all the other mess! if you go back in time 70 80 90 singers were old young ,pretty ugly but we listen to the music and groove! I guess with ADHD so high on the raise the kids today cant focus long enough to be a fan of any artist! truth be told Janet cd was fire this year! and last LEDSIS cd was Way hotter than AMY CRACKHOUSE'S cd and she should have won the grammy but much like the people on this blog we only let on or two black chicks shine at a time! WAKE UP PEOPLE
OH AND ONE LAST THING IF WE TALK ABOUT A ARTIST WHO HAS NOT GROWN BEYONCE STILL SOUNDS LIKE DESTINY CHILD AND SO DOES KELLY! THATS THE REASON KELLY HAS NOT TAKEN OFF! bEY WAS dc SO IT WORKS FOR HER! LATOYA CAME WITH SOMETHING UNLIKE DC SO THATS WHY SHE DID HER THING AND LAST MICHELLE WILL ALSO SO BETTER CAUSE AGAIN SHE SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE DC ON THIS NEW TRACK TILL DAWN OR WHAT EVER!BEY NEEDS TO SWITCH HER LOOK UP BIG TIME AND GIVE US SOME MUSIC THAT HAS SOME REAL THOUGHT BEHIND AND LESS DROP DOWN LOW AND HIT THE FLOOR WIT IT!
