Mariah Carey Does SNL, Tells Allure She's A Prude and Gives Perez the Business

Mariah wants the world to know that just because she dresses like a freak, doesn't mean she is a dumb bimbo... In a recent interview with Allure Mariah calls herself a "freakin' prude."
"It's a dichotomy, I understand," the 37-year-old bombshell singer tells Allure magazine. "I understand that people think I'm a ditzy moron."
And just in case she REALLY is a ditzy moron, Mariah also told Allure "I have three personal assistants just to keep up with my schedule."
Despite previously being romantically linked to Eminem and Derek Jeter Mariah says she's actually conservative and has never indulged in a one-night stand.
"I'm Mary Poppins: I'm what the buttoned-up girls are supposed to be," Carey told Allure.

AMEN! I am so glad someone finally is willing to admit this. When you make comments about MC all folks want to talk about is her singing ability. Which is great..but at what age will they start to rag on her lyrical content and the fact that she is too damn old to be singing about 'migrating' to a club? Let's not forget her label mate who she replaced on the show always gets bashed about the same thing. Fair is fair I always say.

Like I said in the previous post, her voice was pretty good on SNL, but her overall performance was wack. I was paying more attention to her background dancers, who were, too, somewhat wack. I support Mariah's music, but for the past few years, her performances have pretty much sucked. She doesn't have to dance around the stage to have stage presence. But c'mon, seriously? That's the best she could do? Regardless, I'll still buy the album because I'm a fan at heart (sigh).

Was the 'autotune' also responsible for the short hemline that damn near gave all the viewers a crotch shot? It's ok...every performer is entitled to a wack performance every now and then. Mariah is no different.

Plus her only record breaking abilty is to use Payola to get 17 #1 singles on BILLBOARDS HOT 100 and almost all of them are because of RADIO PLAY not sales and when 1 company "Clear Channel" decides what is getting played not the people (us) then that is a shallow claim to make, look at Madonna who has had 36 #1 selling singles on Billboards Single Sales Chart, at least that is real and earned is it not?

I think that the migrate song is not good and it is a dumbed down type of song (because of the lyrics and the rap-singing she is doing). I wouldn't be surprised though if this song becomes a hit because of some of the questionable songs I have seen recently become hits. I think she is still trying to stay relevant by incorporating hiphop into her music and working with T-pain. Other people have incorporated hiphop with R&b and have done it well (ie. mary j. blige). It really is a shame. Why couldn't Janet and Mariah just grow up slightly and realise that people their age by cd's also. Mariah's performance was terrible! i loved the album mimi but am not feeling what i've heard from this album so far, i really hope she has a good think before releasing what could be a major flop in the long run. I listened to rap when I was a kid/teenager (NWA, Gucci Crew, 2LiveCrew, Eazy E, Sugar Hill, Big Daddy Kane, LL, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Too Short etc) in the 80's. Not liking "rap or hip-hop" is not ignorant, just a personal preference.
I don't like rap on any of MC's songs besides "Breakdown." I just skip over the songs with the rappers flapping their lips while MC is singing, it's too annoying to listen to. It's so played out now that every singer seems to have a duet with every 1 hit wonder rapper.
Most "Rap" has become nothing more than bubble gum pop with childish rhymes.
