First Michael, Now Aretha. The IRS and these mortgage banks are no joke -- how does a $450 mistake from three years ago become a nearly $20,000 debt??? That's nuts.

This is the last thing Aretha needs right now, she's already being poked at by Perez Hilton, dogged by PETA and barked on by Matthew Knowles for getting in Beyonce and the Grammy writers asses -- my obvious answer video answer back is: Give Sister Ree her RESPECT

Here's a few more Aretha faves:

"Until You Come Back To Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)"

"Giving Him Something He Can Feel"

"A Rose Is Still A Rose"

  • Ayo Soul Rebel,

Really good look on the soul mixes and for reminding these cats where real music comes from.
I give you props for showing the old school greats along with some of the best from the new school.

  • Celebs get to no sympathy where tax problems are concerned. They make too much damn money to be evading or having tax errors. Hire someone legit to handle your taxes or fill out the damn forms yourself.

IN other news..anybody catch Mariah on SNL? Where's La'Shonda? Did you enjoy that hot mess of a performance? Or better yet, did you enjoy 'Migrate' which to me sound like garbage but you said last week..and I quote.."FIIIIRREEEEEEE".

  • Page Black-I saw that mess of a performance. I mean u don't have to be dancing and all that stuff but she just stood there and did her typical Mariah boring ass put a brutha to sleep performance. WACK WACK WACK!!! Both songs!!! She has no stage presence at all and it is a wrap for her voice! She strains so bad now!!

  • @Page Black...Mariah's voice sounded pretty good on SNL, but performance wise, she was a hot mess. I'm sorry, I got nothing but love for Mariah, but for the last five years or so, her live performances have been 'blah' to say the least. I don't know what's wrong. She doesn't have to dance around the stage to have stage presence, but her stage presence, as of lately, has been seriously lacking, well, presence.

On to Aretha...When you make millions of dollars like her, it's easy to overlook a measly $450. So I can understand that. But still, her accountants/financial people should have caught that. Those interest rates on IRS back taxes are no joke.

Anyhoo, my Aretha favs (no particular order, except for the first one):
Until You Come Back to Me
    Spanish Harlem
    One Step Ahead
I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)
    I Say A Little Prayer
Eleanor Rigby (originally by The Beatles)
    Respect
    Chain of Fools
    Daydreaming
    Don't Play That Song
    Rock Steady
A Rose is Still A Rose

No lie it seems like black people are always in tax trouble ie Ronald Isley, Wesley Snipes, and recently I heard Will Smith in the first 3 seasons of Fresh Prince. Honestly handling big money isn't 1 of our strong suits
