Last Friday I had a girl's night out with a couple good friends at the Trey Songz/J.Holiday concert at House of Blues in Los Angeles.

The place was packed with mostly women although I saw plenty of couples up in there doing the bump'n'grind.

I got a nice lil dose of eye and ear candy -- Both Trey and J.Holiday brought plenty of sex appeal to the show -- extra emphasis on sex! Trey really worked the crowd, sending chicks every where into a frenzy, begging for him to take off his shirt. And I have to say, not a bad note all night.

I was particularly impressed with J.Holiday's band who had soooooooo much energy flying all over the stage -- swinging dreadlocks everywhere as they did covers of "Pop Bottles," "Before I Let You Go" and "The Rain". If you haven't seen them live you gotta do it-- they definitely didn't disappoint.

I also wanted to shine some light on the evening's opening acts:

Razah

whose self titled Def Jam/Universal album comes out May 20th

Also in the house was 18-year-old Boxie:

Here's his song: boomp3.com

No album info yet on Boxie but he's a Polo Grounds artist, you may recognize him from his song with Hurricane Chris "Playas Rock".

Edited to add: In case all the testosterone is getting to you here is a snippet of Michelle Williams' single "Break The Dawn" by special request.

  • Girl I don't know if you have realised but only a few male rnb artists generate much attention.

Can you please get info Michelle Williams and her new album, maybe an interview. Sohh Soulful was always close to the Matthew Knowles camp, so I am sure you can get some info on her new album. The comparisons with Kelly and Beyonce would generate a lot interest in you blog. Just a thought, bye.

  • Ah Michelle Williams, what a breath of fresh air she is..she has the voice of an angel much better than Beyonce's...that little boy Boxie is good too; I wonder how he's going to distingush himself from the other boys. Hey good job Soul Rebel for giving that feedback...how about Jon B.?

  • What a coincidence... Michelle has a new leaked track, and so does Beyonce (Beautiful Nightmare).

I like the vocals on the Michelle track, but am I the only one who thinks the beat sounds like it's a cassette that's dragging?

  • I am feeling the new Michelle Williams joint, her vocals are on point and that beat is hot and different from the usual rnb fare. Damn I didn't know she could do it like this. Congrats to Michelle from DC's biggest fan.

  • Blazinice, I think its only you cos the beat sounds bangin' to me.

Oh yeah that Beyonce track sound like trash, I don't why she is trying to take Michelle's shine, she needs to sit her tired ass down for a minute and give the other girls a chance to shine.

  • Once again another brother who slips thru the cracks as a SINGER. Thank goodness that j holiday did not fall. Although I think ( J Holliday) is one of THE BEST singers to come along since LUTHER. This brother Boxie is a mix between Bobby Brown and Usher and a very little of J holiday.I saw this brother in Las Vegas and I was impressed. Just like the same way I was imprressed by J Holiday when he was with Keshia Cole in Vegas. Hopefully this young brother will rise to the occasion
