  • I’d say Jay-Z’s dealings with these people definitely falls into a pattern of activity that’s had the effect, over the past several hundred years, of denying black people the world over - save for a few tokens - the ability to attain any real wealth.

Or am I reading too much into this? What do you fruits think?

  • I'm still scratchin my head at "Elevator" last week lol, but nice picks Soulman! Wow, I couldn't help but like that "American Boy" song by Estelle (is she comparable to Chrissete Michelle?)... Cheri Dennis and "Portrait of Love" exude sex appeal... and people can say what they want about Ashanti's looks, performing and vocal ability, but she's a dope artist (thanks in large part to the marvelous production behind her)... Soulman, have you heard Brandy's "Doesn't Really Matter" ?? Very deep song, I am confused by different comments as to whether that song was recorded before or after her situation.

  • 1. The Way That I Love You - Ashanti - This single is the business. She's been away for a while, but this is how you come back - take note Janet and Mariah (even though Mariah will likely outdue Ashanti's single when it's all said and done) Tight song. Decent vocals. Some funny/relatable lyrics like
"Now wait a minute /since we been in this house
You ain't never did this before/
Tell me what's this about? /
I tried to sit / and say to myself / This here is too good / he don't want nothing else"
Nice video with an unexpected story to get folks talking. It ain't even an uptempo song really, which is what she normally drops as a first single. Well done Ashanti - still not a stan - but I recognize a hit and this is one.
    2. Luv - Ms. Jackson - I've been off the Janet bus since Velvet Rope, but I still support. I haven't picked Discipline up yet. I'm still listening to the leak. So far, this is the only song that's grabbed me. Gotta decide by Saturday so I can pick it up cheap at Walmart, LOL.
    3. Come To Me/Peace - MJB - I'm really starting to feel those last songs on the album. They were ok, but now that I've worn all the others outI'm getting to stuff past track 11, LOL. Mary just did the thing this time from top to bottom on Growing Pains.
    4.What Love Is? - MJB- see #3
    5. If You Love Me - MJB - see #3.

    2. So Much Betta- Janet Weird but has a funky beat and breakdown

    3. Greatest X- Great song w/ amazing vocals from Janet Jac

    4. Mary J. Blige- Hurt Again- Lovely Song

    5. Donny Hathaway- She is My lady- This is my song of the moment because i just heard it. I can't believe i've never heard it before. Beautiful!

  • Ashanti seeems to be a cool person but her vocals sound really bad on this song she really cannot sing all that good and i cant believe that people can actually sit here and say that it sounds good. She sounds good on certailn things but she is trying too hard here and her voice sounds very nasely.

  • Mary J Blige - Come To Me (Peace)
Alicia Keys - Like You'll Never See Me Again
    Keyshia Cole - I Remember
    J Holiday - Suffocate
Rick Ross Feat T-Pain - The Boss (not SOHH Soulful but it's dope!)
    Ms Badu - Honey ;)
Anything by that band ONE CHANCE from Chi Town
Kanye - Flashing Lights (simply because I love Dwele's voice!)

    And there's so many more...

  • 1.Amy Winehouse-No Greater Love (Frank album, which is a much better cd than Back To Black which I love)
2.Ashanti-The Way That I Love You (I am rooting for her)
3.Carl Thomas-Thought You Should Know (Love this song)
4.Erykah Badu-Master Teacher (Love this! Especially the breakdown)
5.Mimi-Touch My Body (hilarious song and video, but from what I hear the album will be so much more than this)
