Ashanti got with SOHH back at the Grammy festivities in L.A. Nelly's baby girl is so busy these days, we only got 60 seconds with her.
Peep this red carpet moment.
As you all remember Ashanti said to hell with Irv Gotti this time around.
Instead, Ashanti has gathered a cast of heavy weights to back her up as The Declaration features songs with Babyface, L.T. Hutton, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Pharrell and Robin Thicke. The album's first official single is the piano-driven "The Way That I Love You," produced by Hutton.
But wait.... what do y'all think of the new Shareefa featuring Jadakiss titled "On Fire."
Her CD is due out 3rd quarter.... is it worth it?

I wish Ashanti all the luck and will be buying her album. That Shareefa song is... just no. Sorry. Her debut was pretty good, but this ish isn't going anywhere.
That shareefa track is ok, its not exactly the type of song you expect to take you to the type, but Im sure she's got some heat coming. If the cd is coming in the 3rd quarter they are probaly just seeing what happens with this song. DTP is smarter than that.
Ashanti is tryna be Beyonce' Jr. Shareefa can sing but she needs better wrtiers/production otherwise she'll always be in that "hood chick with a voice" box. ADMC did kinda O.D. on La'shonda but she should take it in stride becuase if you're not getting hate from anyone you're not on your job.

You call me a hater? LOL! I'm not the one trying to shit about artists that, unlike you, have a music career. You say you can make it because of "talent", and the image? That alone is going to give you a career? Fuck outta here! There are plenty of artist who have exactly what you claim to have and then some, and are struggling in the music biz. What makes you any different? All you do is come on a blog to talk shit about artist like Janet Jackson and Cheri Dennis. Last time I checked, they had a lot more money and fans than you do. When you have been in the music biz for 20 years, sold millions of records, and had the #1 movie in the box office, then you came come and talk about other artists. In the meantime, fall back and go sit your ass down somewhere.
There's no denying Shareefa is talented but I think where she failed was her company. Her first single on the last cd was hot in Houston. But they never really had her anywhere to be noticed. When you're coming as an unknown artist you have to be everywhere for no reason. So people can associate you with your music and so forth. And Lashonda I wish the best for you but with that attitude you'll be just like Trey Songz good but still being left behind. It's not cool or respectful to talk down on other artist that are in the same industry as you're trying to get into (or already in). The reason they're trying to release her cd this year is because R&B is at bat this year.
And Oh yeah some of the best singers and most talented people are the brokest people you'll ever meet

Shareefa live is a problem...girl be SANGING! I like the track, it has an addicitive yet simple hook which would do good on Urban radio but i don't see her ever being able to crossover into mainstream.

I think this single by Sherifa is ok, she has a better voice then the track that she is on. On Fire has been done before, the production needs to be more fire. Its a bit boring and redundant. She needs to be doing some old Marry J Real love joints, she should holla at the B Cox camp, or even Timbo she has a defined voice that needs to be heard. Her last albumn had singles that werent even pushed she could go up against K Cole but not with this track.
