Welcome back from the weekend my SOULFUL peeps. If you were actually out enjoying your holiday season, then you probably missed these few choice items.
Mario has a new video out. It's called "Do Right"
It's kinda scary that peeps like him and Chris Brown already have three videos out just weeks after their CDs are released.
Since SALEISHA took home the $100,000 contract with Elite Modeling as winner of the ANTM, rumors have been abound that she has been connected to Tyra Banks over the years
Following her win on Tuesday, footage of Saleisha working the runway in an "ANTM" Cycle 6 fashion show began surfacing on the Internet, reports E! Online. Also, fans found video of the model hopeful appearing on the catwalk in an episode of "The Tyra Banks Show," the Web site reports.
Viewers also found that Saleisha had appeared in a nationwide Wendy's commercial that aired in 2006, seemingly in violation of an "America's Next Top Model" eligibility rule.
But wait... there is more....
Mary J. Blige gets greasy and is talking trash before her CD, Growing Pains drops tomorrow.
She recently spoke on opting out of the song "Umbrella" that was later passed to Rihanna and ultimately led to her earning two Grammy nominations for the song.
"I'm not going to chase what [mainstream] fans like," she tells Entertainment Weekly. "It might work for a Mariah. It might work for even a Beyoncé. But Mary J. Blige is looked at as some sort of organic thing."
Mary better sit down... she is chasing the mainstream. She opted out of Umbrella which was a hit and then ran and got The Dream and Tricky (the same writing and production team) to do "Just Fine."
She also better keep Mariah's name out her mouth. Soulman don't play that. We are on Mary's team til she goes and gets outta hand. One more outburst on Mariah and we are ghost...
Soulman, I don't really understand why Mary needs to "sit down" because of her comment. I didn't find it that disrespectful. Mary has never really chased the mainstream fans in her career, so why start now? And, as always, the quote might have been taken out of context. She can say all she wants about Mariah. I don't think that Mary is necessarily taking shots at anyone, I just think it can sound that way when you read it. But lets be honest, Umbrella was a good song and the moment I heard it, I thought it was amazing. All artists want a song like that...artists live for a song that will define an entire year. Mary had the smash on "Be Without You" but she missed out on Umbrella. Just Fine is not that great imo. And she did run and get Dream to pen her a hit cause we know she don't write lyrics. Mary wants mainstream fame too, she may not want to be all up in the tabloids but when it comes to the music, she wants to be a big artist just like everyone else. Let's be real

If you you read that comment about Mary it sounds fake. It said the song later pass on to Rihanna. When Mary and Rihanna was both promise the song and Rihanna got the song over Mary. So that means Mary wanted the song the whole time. Since the production team gave the song to Rihanna over Mary they work together on new songs. An plus if Mary had something bad to say about the song why not be mad at the production team for give the song to Rihanna over her or why would the dream write 8 songs that made her new album.In the MTV interview which you can go to Mary's or MTV site to see that Mary said about lossing the song to Rihanna. I think this article was released in light of Mary's album coming out. I think the reason that the interviewer mentioned Rihanna because they both were up for umbrella song. The Mariah mention could have been because they are peers in the game but Mariah can cross both fields effortlessly R&B and Pop as she may not be able to as easily. But I know she got mad love and respect for Mimi just like you soul man and me too by the way.
