As you know, Solange Knowles performed last week during the Spotlight Live showcase in New York City.
What most people aren't clear on is that this was really a Music World showcase of musical acts he wants to get signed.... Solange was just the headliner.
What's funny is, just a few months ago, Mathew Knowles had another showcase featuring DIFFERENT artists none of whom you've seen on TV or heard on the radio. Are they still a part of the Music World roster or is he looking for the next Destiny's Child Beyonce.
Right after some of the performances, he would announce that if anyone in the room was interested in the acts he showcase to see him afterwards.
Is Mathew Knowles a good artists manager? Can he do this again the way Kedar Massenburg found Erykah Badu, D'Angelo and India.Arie.... does Mathew Knowles have what it takes to make yet another hit artist/group?

Very good question. I don't think so, really. I hate to say it. I think Solange can be big, but the other people... lik that wack, B5 / B2K wannabe group that him in Omarion have together. I don't know, but anything that his artists do (excluding Beyonce) feels second rate, low budget and cheesy a lot of the times. Please don't think I'm hating because I love a lot of people on Music World. But I don't know. I still don't think he's found other great talent other than the members of Destiny's Child, Solange and maybe Sunshine Anderson. But... prove me wrong Mathew. I wish him all the luck and I think he's a good businessman.

I thonk that he has so much going on with his family that he won't have the time nor energy to manage anyone else. Beyonce doesn't seem like she's going anywhere soon. Solange doesn'r seem like she is going to rise anytime soon. He has that children toy thingy also.Where's Suinshine Anderson? Wasn't Mathew her manager?
I think its going to be hard to do, cause he always going to be known for being Beyonce's father and manager. And unless he comes with someone who is hotter or equal to Beyonce, people arent going to support his other artists(i.e. Sunshine Anderson and Kelly Rowland).
He just doesn't have what it takes. To me, he seems like he is so greedy with the way he is dumping the market with everything and all things Beyonce. If he was truly wants to be a good manager, he would have made sure that the members of Destiny's Child also have successful solo careers. But, he can always dream.

Well... no surprise there. Sunshine's album was pretty cheesy and Xavier... LOL.
If I were an artist, I'd NEVER sign with Matthew Knowles (or Diddy for that matter, since his favorite promotee is, well.. DIDDY - but enough with the digression)... it's apparent that the only thing Matthew is good at is promoting Matthew Knowles and anybody BLOOD related to the Knowles clan...not even Kelly can get a break, she get's residuals due to her association with Beyonce', but at the the end of the day, there is no "management" for other artist(s) with Mr. Knowles.
Solange seemingly has more star power than Kelly - she makes plenty of cash through publishing and writing credits, not to mention the fact that many people now even know the name of Angie Beyince', B & Solange's personal assistan/COUSIN who is suddenly a "song" writer.(Keep that money in the fam Matthew)
I knew the moment Destiny's Child got on stage and repeatedly said, "We want to thank our manager, MATTHEW KNOWLES & our stylist, TINA KNOWLES.. that the purpose in that was to get the name Tina and Matthew out there... and it worked, the world knows Tina Knowles and she is as famous as her daughters... and this from a chick who couldn't put an attractive ensemble together as the assistant to a REAL stylist.
I think Mathew is a one trick pony. I am not saying it's impossible to produce another big selling group but I think it's highly unlikely.
Sunshine went no where, Jon B's last album "Stronger Everyday" went no where,Kelly went no where and that boy band,can't remember the name went no where,although I did hear their song being played on the radio.
Maybe Solange will have a fighting chance b/c nepotism is strong with them.
Don't any of you remember the survivors of the late Andrea Tillman sued Matthew Knowles? She was the one responsible for getting them signed and unfortuantely died making Matt the sole manager. This is also when all the lawsuits started. It was settled, just like everything else, but it kinda gives credit to the lawsuits because nobody outside of Beyonce is making it with Music World.
