According to TMZ.com, Akon did not pen the song. Say what?! It seems DJ and producer Clinton Sparks actually wrote the entire ballad -- even though his credit is listed as co-writer and producer. Sparks will fly!

Why does he need to write the song? Contrary to popular belief and song credits, song writing is an existing profession and it used to be a respected on. A good song writer can tailor-fit a song for an artist and I fail to see the problem with that.

@BIRD: Co-sign...I'd personally have a track written by a decent song-writer rather than some ol' bullsh*t written by a performer who has no business penning lyrics. I think it became taboo to have songwriters in recent times (past 10 to 20 years) because not writing a song makes the artist less credible in some eyes and among peers. It's the respect these wannabe's are looking for...it's funny that the way around this for major artists is by forcing the writers to give them co-writing/co-producing credits just because they allowed the song on the album. There are a lot of times when all the artist contribute is the "and, it, but, the" and then they get on stage and front like they wrote the hook and at least one verse. That B.S. needs to end now.

Kanye was supposed to be on the remix but I heard politics got in the way because who's album does the remix go on? Just 50's or both of theirs? When is it released, etc etc. That determines who benefits from it. Jay-Z HAS to get on this track to show NY unity and to stay current. Most of his fanbase is still in NY so he has to ride on a NY track.
Oh and why should Akon apologize? This is why I hate the media and the way most of you fucks think. Why should HE apologize? The real issue is why did the preacher let his underage daughter go to an event that is for 18 and older crowds? It may have been a 21 and over crowd. Why is that?
