Trey Songz... Run That Back!

When Soulman runs into artists... one of his favorite things to do is to have them prove their talent!

This time around, I didn't have to ask young Trey to sing because, in lieu of answering my questions he would break in to song. Hell... I'll take that.

Will say it again... dude sings that face off. Since this meet up, Trey has shifted gears. "Wonder Woman" is being scrapped and they are moving forward with "Can't Help But Wait" (CLICK HERE TO LISTEN!)

The other day Trey's manager posted a note on his MySpace page about the delays in Trey's album.

Wsup myspace!!!!! I couldn't help but notice that trey has like over 500,000 friends. Thanx so much for the love and support shown thus far. If we can get all of his friends to go and request his new single at your local radio stations, we can really get this album finally out to you. I have no doubts that Trey Songz is about to be where he belongs and that's on top of the game. All the haters, please keep hating and talking cause that helps out the promotion lol!!!

I'm a fan of Trey's first Cd and was feeling the wonder woman song. This single feels more of a song for joe (he would've done a better job) or Ne Yo it's just that basic (and don't tell me his songs aren't basic). To me Trey does better on songs he can do more with. ( But maybe they told him to tone it down because cross over appeal doesn't happen with too many runs and rips) This song is a basic song nothing out of the ordinary. If he would've got more promo with the first song it would've done better. And he would've gotten a better look from everyone. I don't have cable soI don't know how many times they played the video. But I know for sure they haven't played anything from here down here in houston. Anyways not feeling the new song but I'm still getting his album hope it doesn't dissapoint

Hmmm...the song isn't terrible minus that fluttery vibrato that's kind of annoying. The funny thing is that if you (as an artist) start to hear a buzz that you are over-confident and arrogant, you should not turn around and release an over-confident and arrogant track. I'm just sayin'.

As far as the album delay...no surprises there. He's just "Oh. That R&B guy that sounds cool." Nothing special. No signature sound vocally or musically. Unfortunately in the world of male R&B, you really only get once chance to catch people. Wonder Woman didn't do it so it might be time to redo his whole project and come out the gate stronger.

I think Trey is a very talented brother! Keep doing you man. You can not please everyone! There will always be haters! There were people that didnt like (and still dont like)artist like Beyonce, R Kelly, (the list goes on)....but these artist have reached levels of success beyond what anyone would have once thought. So again, do you. You cant worry about what everyone thinks! Success to you my brother!!!

I'm mad that the album keeps getting pushed back but it makes sense since Wonderwoman didn't take off like it should. He may be a bit cocky at times but he has the talent to back it up....I mean the proof is right there in that video he sang a capella and killed it....ask Omarion or Chris Brown to sing accapella...they'll sound like shit but Trey is the real deal...can't help but wait is very catchy and radio friendly....I hope that it puts him where he belongs....at the top of the charts!

I love trey songz he's one of my favorite artist right...he's very talented all he needs i feel is "THAT SONG" i'm not sure what song it will be, for Lloyd it was "you' for Ciara it was "goodies" in essence the song you'd buy an entire album for, but like a few people have commented before you can never tell what the public is gonna like.

I like Trey. He does have talent, far more than some of the male R&B artists out now. We need variety and he gives that to us. Sure, his sales may not be that of some but he's still new and trying to figure out what we want. He's like a best kept secret and we all know there are plenty of artists that are slept on...Teedra Moses, a dude out of DC named Deon that has been on plenty of albums (Game's Runnin) but can't get his off the ground, and my ever favorite Mint Condition. They have been out forever and doin it! a true BAND but how much air play do they get? Their last Livin the Luxury Brown? Many of my friends didn't know they had another album out. Trey will get up there soon. He just has to stay in the game and be true to his loyal following.
