It looks like Miss Amerie has jumped the shark. I agree with La'Shonda. The song and video are mimicking One Thing too much. Is she afraid to try something new? And did someone convince her to go under the knife or was she insecure. It looks ok, but I hope she doesn't get anymore work done because she already looks slightly plastic. I like the song and the video. Most of all, the song has a positive message. That's quite refreshing. Anyway, Gotta Work and One Thing are not the same or similar in the least bit. But I can see why people would make that comparison. Amerie was just trying to stick with what gave her, her signature sound. I guess she wasn't trying to stray too far from that. The funny thing is, Rich Harrison didn't produce this at all but it sounds like he did. So I consider this signature Amerie.

Amerie is my favorite singer. She has so much talent, and this song has a great meaning.
I hope this album gives her career the boast it needs. She is such a great artist and a GREAT singer. She needs the credit and the fame that is looong overdue.

am i the only one who misses the old amerie? her first album is the shit, i could listen to it all they way thru.. her voice was softer, she had control and shit. now amerie is trying to prove herself so shes hollering on some of these tracks on the new album, which doesnt sit right with me... "all roads" sounds horrendous at some points and also "gotta work"... i most def wanna see this live cuz im not sure if she can pull it off... and what is up with all this surgery? damn she dont even look as beautiful as she was...

Dude the only thing she's had done is her nose and that was long time ago. In this video, it's the make up and her eyebrows that make her look like that in certain shots. Don't believe me? This video was shot like 3 weeks ago. Look at photos from Getty or Wireimage of her from just last week at the BET Awards. She still looks the same.
Anyways, I never liked this song as a single choice to begin with and I'm glad this is the European single and we get "That's What You Are." It's more reminiscent of the old Amerie that I miss. Still gone support my chick though.
