First of all, I mean it literally, 1ST! I don't really care for little miss 5head, but if she's no.1 at home and abroad, plus her album WILL debut at No.1 (eat ya heart out T-Pain!) then I'm afraid she IS 'that' beeyatch! I like that they are making her more pop rock than pop urban to differentiate her from Bey, President Carter is THAT NI99A.

She is more marketed towards pop music, the fact that she has some appeal to the Urban says alot for her. In the music industry one has to be diverse. Make that money, "F" the haters.

1st Beyonce' has nothing to do with this. Ok now that i got that out there. Rihanna is that chick because she is being marketed to the mainstream, which is a good thing because "real talk" "they actually go out and buy the CD" I heard the cd and i am impressed. It has all different types of music on there and she has stepped up her vocal game. I never thought she was a bad singer in the first place. I have both her albums and will definitely be picking this up on tuesday along with Carl Thomas, cop him he is independent and has no promotion. He is off of Bad Boy.

Lady Lia jay didnt make dat song what it was. His verse was very lazy, boring, out of place and not wut u wud expect of him...(sometimes he should really sit-down & write) that verse was da worst part of da song... ppl dont hate on rihanna, she still mad young, but is doing a great job for her age... dont forget thas Bey was in a group when she gained her intial success as a young lady. and Bey gotta damn "soccer mom" style family making sure erything goes their way... these chicks are coming off from different sets so lets giv Ri Ri da years of judgement she'll deserve if can maintain longetivity in the game. she has proven successfully versatile between her pop and more ballad type muzik. i see good chance of hope for her

Jay-z is my favorite rapper buthis verse was weak so that didn't make the song. The beat is crazy and eventhough the was she says umbrella was annoying me it got catchy after a while. And she got la reid guiding her career. And its obviout def jam is putting all their marking maney into her neyo and fabolous. Hot is fab already on his third video and the album and even drop yet

She's aight but she's not real...lol{the real deal that is}. She's not the best singer, she can't dance, and she look like she missed a couple of meals. She's got Jay behind her so she can't lose. If she switched places wit Ciara she'd be outta the game by now. If Ciara got some more vocal training she'd give Beyonce way more of a challenge than Rihanna.

Rihanna is a pop artist. I'm not even sure the fits on SOHH. You might as well start covering Brit Brit. I'd love to see her rule that genre. No one has ever really done it before. I know we say Janet, but Janet is more crossover R&B than pop. This girls music can't be classified as R&B at all in my opinion.

I didn't watch the entire awards show but I saw the Rihanna performance on the net this morning and I must say that no, she is not that chick. I thought the set was nice, the dancers did their thing, Jay did his part. I thought Rihanna's outfit and hair was dope but, she is not believable. I'm sorry but she cannot pull off the edgy, ruff, dominatrix look at all. I didn't believe her performance, and I think she is very manufactured. Don't get me wrong, all singers these days are given an image, even rappers but some ppl can pull it off better than others and Rihanna just doesn't do it for me. That performance was wack and lets face it, no one cares about MTV now-a-days....they rarely play music and their award shows suck

Interestingly enough,
her marketing team is doing an exceptional job trying 2 convince us that she is.

If she was that chick,
I would consider her 2 be the next Janet, Bey, Mariah, Whitney even the next J.Lo.
2me, like them or not,
they each have a crazy kind of star power that I don't see in Rhianna.
Rhianna is likeable but not loveable. I believe she can probably ride this success train another year or two.

More power to Rihanna for following her dreams, butthis is "of the moment" music. Next summer, she will be on to a new CD with a new summer hit. I still believe that everybody should have their chance to shine. So let her have her time, whether she will have longevity is a whole other question.

To me she's very very beautiful but her vocals sound very lazy no real range and very nasely. She's kinda weird at times. She is breaking out to pop alot more and that's what's keeping her alive and kicking. She has full support from her island people which is also a big push. Personally I'm going to buy the album. I think the change (style,sound,look) is a good look for Rihanna. I was getting kind of tired of the played out reggae joints on her albums that all sounded the same. In short you have to give credit where its due and the girl is hot...it doesn't matter if she's a puppet or people are over excessively marketing her...the girl is hot. If you don't, I really don't think she cares. She's gonna sell records regardless. But it is so unfortunate that no r&b women can make a name for herself without being compared to BeyoncÃ¨. Don't get me wrong, I'm a BeyoncÃ¨ fan, but there's more to life than just BeyoncÃ¨ and her music and her movies!!! And jay's verse is hot like every verse he spits...real talk!
