Sometimes when an artist blows up off the strength of a single.... all of sudden you start hearing them on everyone's remix or featured on every hot artist's track and you're like damn... everyone's jumping on sohh and sohh's bandwagon. Ya boy Akon is no exception.

Akon's first CD, Trouble, sold pretty well but he considers it all in preparation for Konvicted.

Check out this exclusive SOHH Soulful video of Akon explaining his rise to the top of the charts. He speaks about when he was on the come up, how he recorded with numerous people yet the music wasn't released until years later once he blew up. He found that all of a sudden everyone (both with clearance and without) was pimpin' his vocals on their track.


Akon also sets the record straight about joining Wyclef and his make believe Fugee-like super group.

Good lookin Soulman, been a fan of Akon for a while, but hes on damn near everyone songs! And if I hear T-Pains synthesized voice on one more remix......

Yeah I feel u that Roger Trotman shit gets annoying...don't ask why R. Kelly is trying to use it now like 8-9 album in lol. Anyway I'm ridin wit Akon no matter what becuz all that Trinidad BS is unwarranted.
