Atlanta was on fire this past weekend with the NCAA Men's Final Four. The peeps at Disturbin Tha Peace invited Soulman down to ATL to kick it and get a closer look as Bobby Valentino ramps up for the release of his new cd Special Occasion due out May 8th.

Soulman took his camera crew backstage at Ladies Night @ Center Stage this past Friday where Bobby performed with Ludacris, Lloyd, Fabolous, T-Pain and a few others in honor of the ladies of Atlanta.
Bobby even reunited with his original group MISTA to sing the cult favorite "Blackberry Molasses."
On Saturday we all became a part of Ludacris' 41 person entourage for his performance at Centennial Park where he performed for about 15,000 screaming fans.
To help Bobby get it crackin' Luda had him come out and introduce his new single "Anonymous" thats been bubbling.

From recording sessions, kickin it with Lloyd, cd signings, returning to Clark Atlanta University to answering tough questions like "Bobby Valentino who cares?" or "Why does 'Anonymous' sound like 'My Love'? Or why did you jump on the Timbaland bandwagon.. we got it all.

I wish Bobby V well because "Anonymous" is a hit, and if that is a hint of what's to come from "Special Occasion" then the album will become a hit on its own merit than by support of Ludacris (i.e. first album)...
Nevertheless, people should not blame Bobby because "Anonymous" sounds similar to "My Love" and "Icebox". Blame Timbaland, the producer, for lack of creativity. I never understood the hype to "My Love" when "Anonymous" sounds way better lyrically and vocally - even "Icebox" sounds better.
SIDE BAR - Why is that I keep picturing Usher singing "Anonymous" but making the song sound even hotter? Any thoughts?

While I was down there, I did hear more of the album and it is pretty solid.
He remakes that song by Babyface that goes.... "I'll pay your rent, I'll but your clothes... I'll cook your dinner too... soon as I get home from work."
What was good to see is that Bobby makes his own heat and doesn't cling to the Luda connection.
I love Bobby V. He may come off as cocky but shit i know a ton of guys that are even cockier than him for no good reason! At least Bobby's been grinding for 10 years and i'm sure he's faces rejection and what not. But why are we so quick to judge him anyway? It's not like we know him personally and does it matter? Its not like we're going to live with him. He's offering us his musical talent and it's either we like it or we don't. I love turn the page by the way and anonymous is a summer hit.

Bobby just hasn't grown on me. Maybe it's just the curse of the "bobby thing" (i.e., bobby brown etc.) but musically he just doesn't do it 4 me. He never leaves me wanting 2 hear his next song.
My daughter likes him though.

Tameka Foster Expecting a Baby!

The secret is out! Usher and Tameka are expecting a baby sometime before the end of the year. The couple will exchange vows in November according to Usher's publicist, but the publicist left out one small detail: Tameka is pregnant.
I got the word this morning from an upper level music industry source who has provided rock solid information to Sandrarose.com in the past. My inside source informed me that Usher and Tameka broke the news to Usher's mom and to Tameka's ex-husband, clothier Ryan Glover. Ryan and Tameka share custody of their three children. Their amicable divorce was finalized earlier this year.
Elaborate custom invitations have gone out to the private birthday party that Usher is throwing for his mom Jonetta Patton this weekend in Atlanta. The baby will be Jonetta's first grandchild. I'm told the invites are designed to look like Roman scrolls. Will Usher and Tameka use that occasion to make the official announcement about their bundle of joy? We'll soon find out!

Soul Man, you know I have love for you, but is Bobby V. your cousin or something lol? There have been just too many posts about his wack ass lately. He is garbage, I'm sorry. There is just no place for him in the game to me. this album is probably going to flop, because he has no buzz and his talent is mediocre at most. If he can make a hit out of the "My Love" Remix, then more power to him. Look at Omarion, neither of his albums have gone platinum.
Now that Timbaland is hot again, everyone wants to jump on that bandwagon. I'm sorry, it just doesn't work for everyone.

I think "Anonymous" is hot! I agree that the beat has a familiar ring to it, but alot of Timb's tracks tend to be that way. Just like the Neptunes when they were hot. You could tell they produced a song within the first second. It's like the producer's signature. You can't hate on Bobby for that. I think he is definately doing his thing! He is a little cocky, but I think that is part of what makes him sexy. He is no overnight success, he is just confident. What is a man w/o that? I am a fan. :) Do you Bobby!
