The other day (Feb 15th) I met up with Pretty Ricky. Those are some live muthafuckas!
Now we've seen Pretty Ricky before and we know they are wild. But I was kinda surprised by how business minded these four REAL brothers are. (I was the first to say I didn't believe they are brothers, but they are... I think. Same daddy.)
The whole Pretty Ricky persona is cleverly crafted. Its the marketing tool for four brothers that make some freaky ass R&B, stick together and seem to know that this is a business.
They have mad love for R. Kelly, but are proud of their own brand of freakiness as heard all up and throughout their Parental Advisory sophomore cd Late Night Special. There is a clean version at Wal Mart.
If you liked R. Kelly mix with a little Jodeci, some Bobby Brown and some Bobby Womack then do yaself a favor and at least give the cd a spin in your changer, iPod, 8track.
Check out "Personal Trainer," "Push It Baby" and "Up and Down."

yeah surprisingly they do seem very business-oriented based on some of their interviews i've checked out. plus they're very down to earth and talented. just because they aren't up to par with jodeci and r. kelly (c'mon people those are some big shoes to fill) doesn't mean they don 't deserve credit.

I love Pretty Ricky and their music. Some of my favs on the album are "Late Night Special", "Stay", "Personal Trainer"(that's some live shit), "Make It Like It was", "Love Like Honey"... I like almost every song on that album. They've matured since "Bluestars" and they have a real 90's feel on the Late Night Special album.
You can really tell in the latest album that they are fans of R. Kelly, Jodeci and Booby Brown. In each song they used the music, rhythm, melody, and/or lyrics of a lot of early 90s artist. What happen to creativity? I’ll respect them more when they become more original.

I agree with CAP 100 % ; I`m a very big fan of Pretty Ricky`s , and just want to congratulate them on all the success and to thank SOHH.com for the interview & coverage on the boys . Their latest album shows maturity , and equaled talent . . they`ve grown up and deserve the positive attention and reviews . Slick `Em , Spectacular , Baby Blue and Pleasure make up every aspect of Pretty Ricky , without one , there would be just a little something missing so I would have to disagree with those saying they wouldn`t make it otherwise . But as always , everyone`s entitled to their own opinion , the boys are still getting paid , and Late Night Special debuted at # 1 on 4 Top Album Charts . . the haters mean NOTHING at this point . And the name " Pretty Ricky " came from Martin`s sitcom . . long story . But they`re talented blood brothers , with intentions on staying on top and I believe they have the drive , talent & commitment to do so .
