Monica's new single is "Sideline Ho." That we know. She dropped an exclusive on Sandra Rose's site a while back. When she hit up the blogs she checked in with SOHH Soulful too.
Once she called. I ain't feel like asking her about the domestic violence rumors. WHO CARES. I didn't want to waste the time by asking her "WHY SIDELINE HO?" I just wanted her to flow.
Cause at the end of the day, even at it's grimiest, this kinda shit is press and Monica is crazy intelligent and articulate so I knew she wasn't gonna let anything out the bag with me.
Mostly she talked about her DEFINITELY NOT BEING DROPPED FROM J RECORDS. She spoke on how back in the day there was just her, Aaliyah and Brandy and how now there are so many R&B divas with a discerned identity.
She made sure to say that
It's easy for people to forget but Clive Davis and I have had a long standing relationship. My relationship with Clive started almost 13 years ago and we have a good working relationship. Even if there are things that we don't agree on, it's almost like a marriage, you agree to disagree and you keep it moving.
She also said
If I had to do something over again, I'd probably release more than one single and let the audience choose which one they would have wanted to hear.
Aiight y'all so "Sideline Ho" is one that she would have pitched to her fans and listeners straight out the gate. And now that it's here, Monica is probably filming the video by now. And says it will be an accurate depiction of what happened to her.
She even got real gully and was like I KNOW Y'ALL GOT SOME SIDELINE HO STORIES TOO!

I hope this song blows up because I love it. I love the whole album. Very underrated. (Yeah, I bought it first day.) Still not lovin' the cover, though.
I wish Monica all the luck in the world. She has a beautiful voice and made great album after great album. Can't wait to see these videos, too. Whoever came up with it is a genius. I just might have to make one up myself...

I actually went back and listened to her album this week. And it ain't as bad as I initially thought. It was quite cool though no where near as good as 'After the Storm' or 'Afrodisiac' by Brandy (her number 1 competitition).

She's a vocalist so she needs to get with the right people who can make her Whitney/ Mary J. Blige type songs... that will give her the career boost she needs but also keep it real for her. well my story is a little different i was the sideline ho. in the begging i didnt know about the wife i didnt know about the kids and when she finally dropped the bomb on me i had already fallen in love 3 years into the relationship. truth be told being a sideline ho is one of the worst positions because your never number one in a mans life. all you are to him is a sex partner .so many times i wanted to get out but he kept telling me how unhappy he was and wanted to be with me. after while i started to want more i grew tired of ,planed out phone calls, scheduled visits. me and the wife got into it plenty of times so my end result was enough is enough couldnt take it anymore ,i had to let him go. being a sideline ho isnt cute nor is it a game cause it can cost you your life and thats a promise!!
