Stephen Marley Messing With That Voodoo, And the SOHH Soulful Top 5

Last night I stood in the far rear of small studio for Stephen Marley's acoustic performance of selected songs from his debut CD Mind Control. Damn that was a mouth full.
There really was some serious mind control happening as onlookers grooved to performances of "Mind Control," "Traffic Jam" and other songs from the new album.
Mind Control, which hits shelves on March 20th also features "Hey Baby" with Mos Def and "Let Her Dance" with Maya Azucena and Illestr8.
The audience crowded around Marley and listened intently with respect, if not for him and his drive to complete this solo album, then for his father, Bob Marley.
All in all, it's definitely worth a spin or three.
But while y'all were wondering why y'all love Janet's magazine covers more than her last album,

Whitney... I hope she can get back on top. Her voice is too rough now but..man I Loved her music growing up. Can voice lessons bring her voice back .. at least 60% who knows. But its a shame to see such a great Pop star fall from grace. I dont want them to make her compete with Beyonce or Ashanti.. she is way beyond. If they can do for her what they did for Lionel Richie.. that would be HOT.

Good morning all, and sexy Soul Man. I just wanna say, I DON'T WANNA HEAR WHITNEY WITH A HIP HOP EDGE. She needs to do some great ballads, to restore her audiences faith in her. I wanna hear some "Run to You", "Shoop", "I Will Always Love You", "Learn From the Best", "Saving All my Love" "Joy to the World". She's working with Ne-Yo, that seems like a good look, but Whitney can sing waaay better quality than "To the left, to left (just the song).

Soulman doesn't miss. He's been on all of these joints. The only reason I have any r&b perspective is because of this thread. Hip hop is my lane. I preview the hot joints every thursday from here and decide if it's worth telling my wife about. This is the best music blog on the web.

I can tell you about Lilly Allen, as I am from England. She is a foul mouthed bitch. She cusses down all the big stars/veterens even though she has only been in the game a minute. She is not rnb or soul but has some nice songs.
But Amy Winehouse is real talent. The girl can sing and does retro soul. She is very funky. However, she isalways making a damn fool of herself cos she is an alcoholic junkie. They tried to take her to rehab but she said 'No, no, no' and that is what her song is about, and it is sohh hot.
After hearing Family First, Ne-Yo should tell Whitney to tell Clive to fuck off for a year, get a vocal coach, and try to regain what she's so CLEARLY lost in vocal power and tone.
Album will be HUGE financially because people want it to be. But I guarantee it'll be a creative disaster.
Lily Allen is overrated. She has clever lyrics but vocally she's mediocre....and tries too hard to be controversial. Now Corinne Bailey Rae is a great UK export!!
