I don't know y'all. This is the second page I am seeing that Fantasia took from Kelis' book. I give her props for not being afraid to do the blonde thing. But the cut, then the blonde is almost following Kelis' blueprint to the letter.
I am not saying she went out and deliberately copied Kelis. I am just saying that it reminds me of what Kelis did. Especially seeing as Kelis was on the previous cover of Vibe Vixen.

At any rate... Fantasia's cd is banging. It's not getting a lot of burn commercially as I predicted long before it was released. Never the less there is some hot production on the cd. (((kwame did it!)))
Currently Fantasia is #68 on the Billboard charts after only 5 weeks. It debuted at #19.

How in the world is Fantasia biting Kelis? That black and white picture is promo pic for her album that's been on the net since the summer. Kelis just went blonde - so again how is Fantasis biting? Fantasia hair has been short ever since she was on AI 2-3 yrs ago; Kelis just went short last year. How is Fantasia biting. Furthermore, Kelis is not the first chick to go blonde or cut her hair short. That as ludacris as Kelis claiming to have been the 'first chick to scream on the track'. Females in and out the industry was doing the same before Kelis. She has no blueprint and hasn't set any trends. Get a grip.

Great post Michelle. It is truly sad when our own people turn against us, instead of praising the fact that she didn't become a product of her environment and just give in to a life her mother and grandmother lived. She had bigger and better plans for herself and didn't let her irresponsibilites stop them. She many not be their standard of beauty, But I think that Fantasia is gorgeous and is very talented and I'm proud to be a fan.

I think people who say her new album is "hood" or garbage are basing that on ONE song. The album is the BOMB the best R&B album with better reviews than many mainstream artists from Rolling Stone magazine and many other high profile magazine/newspapers and critics. The new album has 5 ballads that are off the chain. The fast songs and midtempo songs are great too. Very nice variety.
Can she use improvement on her looks? Yes! I'm sure WE ALL can. Both Vibe photos are nice. They are different and that's what I like about her. She never does anything the same. She switches it up.
Give her a break she won AI at 19 with mad vocal skills and very well deserving of the win.
May God continue to bless her and her family she is truly a genuine sweet person and is humble.

We've all seen American Idol and voted for Fantasia. And it's not because she was the prettiest (hell wasn't La toya London on that same season) but because she can sang her tush off. She's one of very few, female R&B artist who can really blow (and I mean that vocially) . She has real talent and is here to stay. I just hope that the same people who voted for her on American Idol are the peolpe who are buying her cd's legally. We as people need to support eachother and realize, there are deeper things than the exteriory of a person. For instance, all of these celebrities who've had plastic surgery so they could advance their careers; and then their careers and didn't end up going anywhere (vivica's, stocks are dropping fast, lil kim is just a mess, fergie..................... please have you seen her before pictures, and lets not mention the blonds pamela and anna. All have nice respectable charities going on). Why can't we accept people on their job title/credentials and nothing else. She a singer and that's what she does, SANG. Lets all give credit becasue she is one talented sister. Hard working, and always on the grind. And not in whomever bed of says, they can get her nominated for a golden globe.
