What Made Amerie Switch Up Her Game? And... Does Cherish Appreciate Their Fans?

As many of you already know Amerie is set to release her third studio album early next year. The official first single is called "Take Control." The SOULMAN got with "A" this past Friday to chop it up on how she decided on the direction of this cd. (Fantasia, you hear that.... AMERIE ACTUALLY SHOWED AND PROVED!)

A while back a snippet from Amerie surfaced online called "Some Like It". Listen to it here. "Some Like It" was to be the first single, but check out why she selected "Take Control" instead.
Amerie tells SOHH Soulful exclusively:
We were thinking about going with it for the first single. That was at the top of the year. Then on the radio, I hear Kelis' "Bossy" single. I was like 'ahh man.' That's just the nature of things sometime, whether it's a hairstyle or music. Sometimes things are alike. I was like 'I don't know if I want this to be the first single now.' 'Cause she's kind of talking on it too a little bit. I thought we'd still think about it because I really love the way it changes keys and then Fergie's song came out. I was like, 'I see where the direction is going.' So then I was thinking about selling the record. Actually I was thinking about selling it to Fergie. We were debating about it. I feel like the song is huge but maybe it would be bigger for someone else. Maybe that isn't what people want to hear from me," says Amerie to SOHH Soulful. "We ended up not going with it for the first single which actually worked out. Then Justin [Timerlake] came out with "Sexyback." The direction for music for me was like hip hop flava without being blatantly hip hop. Kinda like talking, swagging on a track. So I am happy that we went with "Take Control" because it's kind of different.Watch the video for "Take Control" here. Or do it legally on BET later this week. Yo, she get props for that mod shit in the last set up of the video. You can see why the fashion heads love her.
"A" went on to keep "Some Like It" for herself but it's great that she is in tune with the music landscape and put enough forethought into her shit so that it doesn't sound like the usual Clear Channel fodder. So far I like what I hear. But ya know Imma stay on that ass to see what else lil mama got up that sleeve. Takin' control is a big step.
SOHH Soulful has much more coming from Amerie about why she is inspired Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson and those out there who stunt on vocal acrobats. Y'all ain't ready.

Amerie's first album was the bomb. A nice rnb album. But the second one was too experimental and left me out in the cold. It was not good. Stick to what you know Amerie. Experimental is good if you can do it Kelis but some of the stuff Amerie was making was wack. Anyhow I will wait a see/hear the new stuff. If it is good I'll cop that disc.

Ok, so I -came into the possession- of Ciara's new album. There are a lot more uptempo songs but nothing extraordinary. Suprisingly, the slow songs are higher quality. Overall, she has evolved musically. The production on the entire album is pretty tight. In closing, this is a solid release for Ci Ci. Ciara fans will enjoy the direction she went w/ this one.

I watched the Cowboys the last few weeks, they were a pick in the NFC with immobile ass Bledsoe at the helm, now they have a QB that's cool and mobile.
That pass to Whitten in the last minute on the run off is leg was perfect. He was a dumb ass play away from being undefeated as a starter (the Washington game).

All the bears need to do is keep Grossman from making mistakes. Defense wins in the playoffs. Ask Peyton Manning. Tamba Bay and baltimore have won recent cips without a killer offense. The Bears are the best team in the NFL though.

But Indy is reeling again, so they can get got also.
It's still wide open once the playoffs actually start though. No team has played 'perfect' ball for any extended period outside of Indy, and they aren't winning those close games anymore.

I date all women of all backrounds but I prefer my honey browns. I just like real. I don't like makeup and big ass nails and all the extra shit that hides what a woman really looks like. I don't care if a chick has short or long hair as long as what she got looks good.
