What do we really think of this Tyrese alter ego thing... no really?
Here is what I think.
I say Tyrese/Black Ty sit down. If your rapping skills were all that then there would be no reason to mask them behind an R&B CD. Also why not roll out a rap video first or at least simultaneously.
What I really want to know, besides who lied to him and told him this was a good idea, is why fuck with your brand? Tyrese is one of those one-name wonders. It takes a while to build respect and identity in this game, why would you fuck with the brand by renaming yourself at this point in your career?
Here is the mediocre "One" from the forthcoming Alter Ego, thanks to ConcreteLoop.
I spoke to Akon yesterday about the hoopla around Chili signing to his record label. He said he's excited as fuck and that it came about when Chili walked in and was like "I am signing to your label and that is that."
Hmmm, what you think? Better yet, what do the wives think?
Although Rich Harrison may be twerkin' 50cents next project, he vows to restore credibility in R&B with Richcraft his new label. Rich feels that aside from Chris Brown and Ne-Yo that R&B is forgotten about. He's got a couple artists he plans to release in the Spring including Jaiden James, Young Stef (formerly of Roc A Fella) and a girl group named Rich Girls.
Rich apparently is working on both Missy's and Usher's next projects.

In Short, for years you can try to have your music heard and even be rejected by the majors in the business forever. However, to be frank, nobody really wants to go through that and, no one should have to, this is where rocmp3.com/Digitalmusic comes in.

The Benefit in this is to have multiple online stores promoting and selling your music. If you choose to allow other store owners to sell your music you simple pay them 40% of the sale price. This would be a great benefit if 10,000 stores could manage to sell 1 copy of your song, wouldn't that be great?
If you just want to take advantage of the service and not use it as a way to make a significant income, that would be fine as well. To have the service for only $10.95 a month is still a great bargain. At least if you just sign-up 3 people to make over $13 a month, your membership would be FREE. But of course there will be those who set a goal to use our easy money making system and marketing tools to focus on getting a 1000 people under them. Why not, that's an extra $4,380.00 a month income from just telling people about the network.

I agree, Tyrese shouldnt have "fucked with the brand" and personally I think the whole idea of trying your hand at other things has been taken to extremes these days. Everybody's got alter egos now. Even Mary's got a rapping alter ego. MARY for Christ's sake.... sheesh.
But like ole boy Odhis said, Tyrese's rapping is pretty much on the mark a lot of the rappers of the day are. He's not garbage, but if he cant be great, why do it? Ciara 's album is sounding good in my ears. C.R.U.S.H. sound like it's gonna be hot. As for Akon, He's #2 on the charts and Game is #1 (He proved that he can do it w/o Gay-Unit. He sold almost 400,000 in the first week. But Tyrese I don't give a fuck for.
Loving Ciara right now. I actually think this is gonna work for her. I guess she is growing up and that is a good look!
