SOHH, Bobby Brown 'supposedly' trumped Christina Aguilera for the cover of Vibe's October 2006 issue. I guess "at the time" being Bobby Brown wasn't such a bad thing. That is until Whitney Houston filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage to the "original" king of R&B.

We're not going to get into how it would have been hot if the Vibe cover story was the first to break intimate details of the pending divorce. Well come to think of it that isn't that necessary given all the public humiliation the two have subjected themselves to by being in the tabloids I would say for at least 10 of the 14 years they were married.
You'll recall Whitney and old school R&B singer Cherelle went on a 'binge' of sorts until Bobby's sister decided to turn the wheel on them.

You are right. I was in Jive the other day and the plaques that he and Usher have are insane. The umpteen millions each of his records sell are crazy.

I disagree with this Trissa. Now, I am not a big fan of Britney's music. But the chick is one hell of a performer. My husband and I were watching the highlight performance before the VMAs and they had a couple of Britney's performances highlighted. And me and my husband both agreed that she has some bangin' performances. Especially the one with the snake. She is exactly what the VMAs are missing. (Even though I borrowed the cd from my cousin and never gave it back..LOL)That cd was special cause it had all the song I liked on there. You know some greatest hits be missing 2 or 3 of the songs YOU be wanting to here. I am still mad about that shit. I used to get dressed every morning to that cd. The Ron Isley thing is pitiful. How he thought he could get away with that is beyond me. Cashing royalty checks of his deceased brother??? Being paid in cash for all the touring he did, and not reporting it as income?? That was straight stupid.
Angela Winbush is probably laughing all day every day at him given how shabbily he supposedly treated her.
I have faith in Whitney. These are some of the most positive steps she has taken in a long time. She may not be able to get back vocally to where she was during the "Bodyguard"/"Star Spangled Banner" era, but I think she has more left in her than most of these cats today. Besides, she was mostly a studio voice anyway (but she could do it live - unlike most of today's folks) She rarely toured, just did award shows. She'll have many chances to get it as close to perfect in the studio so that it sounds good on cd. She just needs the right material and producers, and hopefully she's hungry or angry, both of which help fuel great albums. I think she realizes that she will have to prove herself all over again.

What it do ya'll! I'm not surprised about the whole Whitney and Bobby thing. However, they have outlasted a whole lot of Hollywood marriages. People were saying in the very beginning that they won't last, but they made it 14 years. That's a whole hell of a lot longer that a lot of other celebs.
