Let's get it crackin' with some new joints from Game, Ciara and Fantasia. Each of these three artists have their sophomore CDs on the horizon. And you know SOHH Soulful puts a lot of emphasis on an artist's sophomore set. So without further ado, let's hear what these mofos have to offer. But more importantly, YOU chime in and let the DJ's and VJ's know whether to RUSH IT or if the shit stinks, tell the artist and the label to FLUSH IT.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is supposedly the first official single from Tha Doctor's Advocate. As an R&B head, the only thing I can say about Game is that his music bumps and he is one of the few who ain't lickin' 50's gonads these days. That's it. But what say you?

She actually made Jamie's perfomance watchable. Fannie will take it to North Carolina at the drop of a dime and again you can't be mad. The voice don't lie.

I use to give Fantasia a hard time. When she hit 106 & Park to promote her Lifetime movie, I kinda got in to her a bit.
I liked how she handled Jamie Foxx lying about that fuckin kiss they shared on stage.
I think both the Ciara and Fantasia albums are both going to blow. Especially Ciara, with the play she has been getting off of Get Up. She's filling that void everyone knew Aaliyah for.

I'm convinced that either you gonna accept Jayceon Taylor for what he is. A talented lyricist who just happens to beefs with EVERYBODY and namedrops on every verse. With that being said, there's no reason why his album should be wack-this song grows on you like peachfuzz.

Who ever this is... we are friends for life. I hate Jamie Foxx the singer. The comedian, I'm sold.
But back to your question. Apparently Jamie Foxx told the hosts of "106 & Park" it was like a natural chemistry and he wanted to make the point of collaborating with a dark complexion sista. Like Fanny needs this fools charity.
She later revealed that the kiss was contrived because Jamie called her and asked her to perform and HE suggested that they kiss. She was seemingly reluctant, but agreed.
On the show when they told Fantasia Jamie's version of the story, her face revealed the truth. She looked as though she almost wanted to say that fool lied. But I am sure she respects him and they are both on the same label so she did the right thing. Had she blown him up Clive mighta had that azz in a sling.

Damn. Ya'll puttin me back in therapy talking about that jamie/fantasia kiss. I was boycottin BET for a few days after that. And I am definitely anti-jamie foxx anyhow. The jury is still out for me on Fantasia's new stuff. After she said "role-play" in Nominate You, I had to cut it off. She just doesn't give off a sexy vibe to me.

Chingy had his lil top 25 video countdown on BET last Saturday and he only played videos by 'fallen soldiers'. There was a lot of Aaliyah up in there.
Just a reminder of how many hits she had and of how she had her own lane.

Game is going to go Plat, easily. This strip club joint is going to get madd west coast love. I love the 1 blood Joint and I am now spending alot time in Philly and NY (more in Philly than NY) and in both cities cats are bumpin the 1 Blood joint. If Game drops something to bring the south 2 the table then he will be all set.
Anyway Soulful; good looking out on posting the Game joint.
One day in the future I am going to spend the whole day hanging out with yall. It will be a day where you have a hip hop mixture like U have today or if you do an old school R & B topic b/c I love old School R & B but I really don't like the contemporary R & B shit. Today's artists don't sing well enough to me to draw me in as a fan. I think singing is an lost art.
For me with today's artists; when some one can actually sing they stand out....Jill Scott, Heather Headley (Mis-spelled I am sure), India Arie, The Girl from Floetry ( I think her name is Marsha)....etc...whereas with old school R & B being able 2 sing was the norm and not the exception to the rule.

Tha Game shit is formulatic and the sung part of the hook is VERY "Curtish". I need to know who produced it because the beat is too "hollow" for a Dre beat and he DID namedrop Scott Storch. That being said, it's gonna move the crowd but for all the WRONG reasons.

'Tasia? I FEELIN her like braille. She enunciating a WHOLE lot better and not too much over emoting this time around. I lost my breath when she dropped the N-word on "Hood Boy" but she seems to have grown and seems very comfortable.

Im lookin forward to the Ciara release. The joint up top is hot, love the feel of it. If she stays in that vein, she might do a lil something.
I like Fantasia but I dont. Never could really get past something about her, but I also could never really pinpoint what that "something" was. I like the snippets though, and she killed the concert she did here earlier this year so we'll see.

Soulman...Aaliyah is now the name of the lane Ciara is trying to fit into. The Field Mob vid was eerie when she had her hair black and the glove dance number on the court. She works hard like Aaliyah though and definitely has crossover appeal.
Back to my Lupe fix...the song that has grown on me beside the crack that is "Emperor's Stdk" is "He Say She Say".

But yeah I think that is a real danger, especially because he is so young and has so much career left to be had. Truth be told, he's not an exciting performer now. We love John behind the baby grande but after a while, it gets mundane. Look at A.Keys... at one point you never saw her do anything but sit behind that piano, but somewhere along the line she realized she needed to show the world she wasnt paralyzed from the waist down LOL.

I think that Ciara song is a little outta her leauge. She is trying to really sing and the fact of the matter is tht she can't. Songs like Oh and Get Up work for her cause she is very good at riding the beat. I give props to her cause she do her though. She gives me Aaliyah vibes, but I thinks she emulates Janet.
As for Game, he gon always come with the lyrics....but I do think he is a gimmick just like 50, put he don't come off acting like a bitch like 50 do.

Some people just need to sing and be cool with it. AKeys can dance her ass off but I don't wanna see her do that shit all the time.
