hey everybody, I'm a fan of mariah cause she makes great music and I agree that some of her television performances do sound a strained. I have to find out when she's coming down here in my city or surrounding areas so I can get a ticket and see her perform live.

im glad u did a story on Mariah, she's definitely one of the most talented singers out right now and doesnt do alot of gyrating to get her point across, most r & b singers cant touch her uniqueness and quality of singing, i've been a fan since "vision of love" and she's stays consistent with the hits....

I think that I would appreciate MARIAH a bit more, if she would be a bit more classy with her appearances. She's a great talent. But sometimes, it's okay to close the coochie door/ sleezy look.

I love Mariah's voice...........but I hate that I can't sing it, lol. I wish she had another duet like "One Sweet Day", the bizz, SOHH needs this right now.

I am going to enter my one and only post as an off topic subject and then I will be off soulful for an indefinite period of time.

First thing First: As I did late in the late afternoon; I want to extend a sincere apology to Soulman. I was in error with respect to thinking he deleted a post of mine which I thought its content was generally benign and overall complimentary to him. However, I later discovered that I had actually posted my comment in Ya Heard; yes this embarrassingly true.

Second Point: Some would wonder why a kid would explode over a deleted post. Well my answer is one; it happened to me before when I simply said hi to a soulful blogger. Further, when I inquired as to the reason for the deletion (as several of the soulful women asked that I do yesterday) I was never given a response and remind you asked twice. With that being said, I think Soulman is by far the most engaging personality on this site has; and Soulman your following or maybe I should say partner because I sense a partnership you have with you a blogger…sort like a equitable relationship…anyway they went to bat for you, yesterday.

As for me, I am a student of many things. I take offense to a deleted post because I have been on this site for a while now and many of the topics on this site (not necessarily this one Blog) many of them lack creativity, imagination and most times are exclusionary and or divisive. If I had the power to delete the topic I would probably do that every single day.

I have also seen people with the I.Q. of a tree stump; post the most dumb, trite ignorant shit humanly possible to conjure up in a feeble mind and I have seen their multiple posts untouched and unfeathered. Further, I have seen these dumb and trite ignorant comments get supplemented and re-enforced with additional dumb and trite ignorant comments. So yes, I take offense to that. I take offense to my shit being deleted and someone who’s cognitive development is consistent with that of a mosquito and has the intellectual capacity of a flea; post remain and I who have intelligence; get deleted.

Anyway, once again, I was error in THIS CASE and I do apologize to Soulman.

O.K. my last two last points and I am out of your life.

Anyway, I am on the record multiple times praising this blog’s synergy; the compatibility of personalities; the emergent of meaningful and significant friendships yall developed and two days ago I called your blog exceptional Bloggers but I guess some people who I really respect have some short memories.

I say that because one day when the stans tried to cause friction between to sistas that I respect and adore I came in and mediated the tension and explain why people were trying to drive wedge between your crew….

When many of yall R off the Blog for more than 2 days I inquire about your whereabouts and give Crazy love upon your return… My question is: why was it so easy for yall to believe that I was in NY dissen yall… (Rhetorical question because I know the answer)

Last point and I am out:

SOHH NYC have been characterized by many on this blog as a bunch of hot head ignorant e-beefing niggas; and in the early to mid-summer that was true…but over the last several weeks yall have had more beefs and stans than we have had.

On Tuesday we had the best Blog interaction in the history of the site (in NY). We talked about politics that ranged from the American Democratic Political ideology to the American Republican Political Ideology to the American Libertarian Political ideology. We talked about the pervasive deprivation of resources that permeate our communities and the contributing factors to bring this deplorable condition into being.

We talked about continental politics such as in Asia and Africa. We talked about American and Western aggression and the Bush’s administration foreign policy madness. The nationalist and Pan Africanists schools of thought were addressed. We addressed a domestic policies and the hypocrisy of the No child left behind and cuts and national social programs. We talked about the pedagogy being employed in school across America and the Freedman Bureau and the impact of that a mis-education has had on our communities. Further, we talked about parental roles and responsibilities and family values.

Karess and I had a 2 hour dialogue where we discussed the appropriate vehicles of mass communications that can be employed to raise the consciousness of our people. We talked the mindset of white the supremacist…and we said fuck Piaget and his flawed ass theory on human development or Freud and his over fascination with sex. No, we talked about the great Dr. Frances Cress Wesly in the Isis Papers and her view on white supremacy.

We didn’t talk about Hume, Aristotle and Socrates or any of the other Greek thieves; we talked about Malcom X, Marcus Garvey and Carter G. Woodson. There wasn’t 1 e-beef on that blog the entire day. It was not one thought post of debauchery on the blog that day. Karess, is a very pretty 20 year old woman who is bright and intelligent but not one person tried to hit on her…we were all engaged in the subject matter and we all learned.

In fact, since I have been back NY has not e-beef a lot and definitely not at the level yall have…your e-beef activities over the last two weeks are higher than ours…

All the high school kids are gone so we got cats like Black Friday, Xclusive BK Dude, BlazeMcherbs, E. Fraizer, Karess, my 2 cents, That dude 4 president, The Kid Banga, King of Sohh, J-Money, IJUSTKEEPONHUSTLIN', K-Rob, K.ola and me…amongst some other cool cats

This has been the core crew…these cats are knowledgeable and generally don’t e-beef with each other… So I think your current characterization of the NYC Blog is a mischaracterization.

O.K. finally; I am done….

Oh an extra apology to Rocky and Sexy CG for indirectly contributing to beginning your E-beef and all the others I may have caused to discomfort to but especially the Godson Soulman

Yeah it is hard to sing to Mariah but I couldn't sing along with Whitney either. I thought that pop was supposed to be easy to sing too, but again the sounds of pop have changed.

I love Mariah. I have never seen her perform in person but it is not doubt that the girl can blow. And if she still wanna dress like she is 25 then go for it girl. Hell I ain't mad at her. She has definitely got my money for every CD she dropped.

I'm not gonna lie. I watched the whole thing. It wasn't the worse movie I have EVER seen (such as Band Camp or The Hills Have Eyes), but it wasn't gonna win her an oscar. What was truly terrible about it was the soundtrack, Glitter. WTF was she thinking?

I was there in Atlantic City. Can I tell you that she lives for the fans!! She is incredible, her live show was awesome. Most stars would not give you an hour and a half show of JUST THEM. It was awesome!

^^^^^ I completely co sign on that. I LOVE MARY! and she always comes with it. Always heartfelt and emotional in her delivery. I cry to a few of the songs on her cd because I can relate so much to what she is singing about.

Although black people didn't really take her in, I think we did keep her afloat, kind of like what we did for Janet. And lets not forget her consistent fans. White people are just now beginning to appreciate her again.

Hav Plenty-It wasn't TERRIBLE. Just seemed like they spent all that money getting SWV and Jon B. on the album and ran out of money when it was time for production of the movie. It seemed very "home movie" to me.

Nah I didnt view it that way. Mariah got a million little white girls running around here with butterfly tattoos on their backs and knowing who Mase was, LOL. Maybe what youre talkin about might be how I thought some industry people looked at her, but not the general public. A lot of folks had issue with the changing of her public image, but I would say that was among both black and white people. But up until the MIMI cd, I was the only black person I know who bought anything of hers after Music Box. But all the white folks I know had the whole collection.

But also the top 4 editors were just replaced. That Tracee Ellis Ross cover was the last of the bad.

Mariah don't have to make another CD ever and she will be a legend. Label execs are foaming at the mouth for Whitney to straighten up her act b/c she can still make some serious dough if she wants too. When Mariah was going through the hair change and heritage thing I was not sweatin that - hell we all go through shit like that. I cancelled my subscription to Essence b/c it had gotta kinda of redundant and I switched to Vibe and Vibe Vixen and Vibe Vixen ain't that bad. It could def be better. So I gotta check you out on there. Keep it soulful!

i kinda disagree. i think they did back in the 90s, but something just isn't the same anymore. i see they are trying to return to their glory days in past few issues they put out. now they're using celebs to do their fashion spreads which is kinda cool. they did some serious down sizing as well and i know they replaced their fashion editor, so things will definately look better. in fact, their new fashion editor used to be the fashion editor for suede.

I just wanna sat that Im not a big Mariah fan, but I respect her.. She is very consistent with her music..She know what it takes to make good music. She also the prime example of what I was talking abou the other day, when I was talkin about performances..She doesnt have all the backup dancer and lights and bullshit to distract you. Because her VOICE is her performance. If I was a fan I would pay good money to see her because you are getting your money's worth. Not some bullshit..

The one thing I will say about Mariah is that she plays both races very well. She puts out R&B and pop. When she first came out I thought she a black women, then I saw the video and she look white..I was confused...then the shit about her heritage came out and I was like okay she black..but then all the lead guys in her video be white...Its like you sound black, but you want the white folks to know that you still white...I just started to overlook it and listen to her music..

To be fair, when MC first came out, she was singing entire albums in that top high C octave. It wasn't until later that she learned she could sing quiet and subdued and still put out a hit. Christina will learn.

Performing live is one of the hardest things to do cause you can hear yourself and make adjustments.
