I do admit that when I first heard B2K, I wasn't impressed. I thought, "Gee great... another boy band." Although all the members had their own following, everyone knew it was all about Omarion.
Then just when I got accustomed to their annoying singing and dancing they break up. Then Omarion goes solo, which was no surprise to anyone. His first CD was going to be a mere memory to most until, the Pharrell -produced "Touch" saved his ass and Sony's bottom line. The O-man turned up the heat with his 2005 BET performance... remember that?
SOHH now the young braided divo (male diva) is 21 and back with another offering, aptly titled 21... But this time, he has a special message for nay sayers:
"I'm here to stay, man. Everything about my music and how I dance â€" I'm going to be that person who's going to stick around. I'm taking my own lane. I don't want [the album] to be dope songs that other people wrote that don't have anything to do with my life. I want it to be personal."
Omarion goes on to say:
"Most of the time when people are putting together their albums, they reference Off the Wall, Thriller, you know, to be a guideline. I pretty much wanted to just find myself and my music. And everything on this album I wrote on, and it's real recent."
That is true. People do refer to Michael's discography when they want to compare their album. I even had one Sony staffer tell me the other day that Beyonce's (DING!) project is like Michael Jackson's Off the Wall.

That Janet stuff is BS. We don't know how her album is yet, but if people support a project no matter what even if it bad. Artists will keep putting out awful music.
I personally am a Beyonce and a Mariah fan, but it took me months to go out and buy their albums after they were released after reading countless reviews. There is nothing worse than buying an album and only liking two songs on it. I only buy albums where I am guaranteed to like 80% of the songs. It doesn't matter who the artist is or how long I have been a fan.

I honestly think Brandy is going to come back in a major way. She's working with the Neptunes, and I love almost everything they put out. So her new album will be fiyah. Lately though she has been looking a HOT ASS MESS. She is such a beautiful woman. She needs to gain a few pounds, because some thickness looks good on her. The best I have ever seen her was on the MTV VMA's, right after she had her baby. She had that baby weight, and looked really good. Oh, and she needs to find a decent hair style, she has a lot of competition now, so she better bring her "A" game.
Dig: Usher's last album was ok, I love the song "Bad Girl", but he is feeling himself a little too much. His attitude stinks, and he isn't all that to me as a performer. I know you are probably going to crucfy me for this lol, but I prefer Justin Timberlake over Usher anyday. Even though they both are trying way too hard to be like Michael Jackson.

Is it me or do all of the new crop of R&B princes seem generic. They are all cut from the same cloth and completely unoriginal. None of them have their own sound or style. Ne-yo sounds like Usher to me. Omarion's voice is weak as hell. He can dance but, it's nothing that Usher or Michael Jackson have not already done. The same goes for Chris Brown. His voice is a little different from his contemporaries though. It kind of reminds me of young Tevin Campbell. That damn boy could sing his ass off! I just wish that for once someone will give us something a little different.
