LeToya Luckett has been a busy girl. She's got a self titled debut CD coming on July 18th, she's been performing up and down the east coast working that ex-Destiny's Child drag for all it's worth. And I can't say that I am mad.
Her new single "Torn" is #39 on Billboard charts, which is up from #48 last week. And if that wasn't enough she got Mike Jones and Rick Ross to bless her remix. Listen to it here.

That remix is pretty hot. At first I wasn't sure, but as you here more of it, you start ridin to the track. The beat is hip-hop southern but still R&B and it aint too common like all of the southern hip-hop tracks now-a-days. I hope this is the official remix that gets played on the radio, and there's a video for it. I think people would start feelin both tracks. Please, enough of Beyonce, I hear her name too much!

I'm not sure how well she'll be at that because she isn't the best actress by far. However, B's decision 2 make her money pile up isn't a negative thing. This is a business that loves u 2day and discards u 2morrow, I'm under the assumption that B is making sure she lives out her dreams while she has an opportunity to do so.
As far an all-girl band, I love that concept. I'm wondering will she do that whole Josie & The Pussycats thing, one black girl (or Kelly), uno Latina, an Asian or some other ethnicity 2 balance the whole multicultural inclusion thing out...

My only issue is that singers/comedians should take on roles they can contribute something to (e.g., Jamie Fox as Ray). I'm no real eartha kitt fan but her whole aura and presentation is a character within itself. I really don't c Beyonce pulling that off.
Yea, her performance on 106th N Park wasn't that good. No excuses, but the REASON is because of nerves. Anyone who has every singed in front of a crowd and sounded different because of nerves understands. Her yahoo performance was okay but the end of it was good. She seemed less nervous. I love LeToya but she has got to step it up on her performances and stop being so self-conscious.

I have nothing but love for my girl Letoya, but she has been letting me down a little with these live performances lately. That bad part about it is I know she really has a nice voice. I'm sure she'll get it together though. I would really love to see her do well, and I am definitely getting her album in July.
Beyonce playing Eartha Kitt? OH HELL NO!!! Who is in charge of casting this part? There are plenty of other talented Black females out there besides just Beyonce. This is almost as bad as them casting Jamie Fox as Bob Marley. I will admit, casting the part of Ms. Kitt will not be an easy task, but I know there are better choices than Beyonce. This girl can sing, but she CANNOT act. The critics are going to rip this film to shreads. I would rather have them cast a newcomer. I can't think of anyone that could pull off playing Eartha Kitt, except maybe Halle Berry, but she's already done Dorothy Dandridge. Hell, even Janet Jackson would be a better choice than Beyonce.
I'm feelin' the Leela James song. It's one of those old school feeling joints that us young folks can vibe to. I could see grandma, grandpa, and all the other old folks getting their groove on with the young folks at the family reunion to this one. Although my Granny's favorite song was "Pony" by Ginuwine lol.

Actually, Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce (when she's not being the scream queen) sound good live. Patti sounds the best. However, most of these new pop tarts sound like hot, funky garbage singing live. Straight studio singers.

Im feeling Letoya. Its good to she's doing her thing, she has a pretty nice album, but most definetly she needs more personality on stage. It wouldn't hurt to get more vocal training either. Maybe she needs an alter-ego like sasha and brooklyn.

On another note, while Jamie Fox does give me anything Marley right away,

Well the website said it's been going on for 12 yrs. I graduated from SU in 2003. Perhaps it was because I wasn't really feeling upstate like that. But it seems like a better concert than Summer Jam. I started giving my tickets away for that 2 years ago. Maybe, I will pick this concert up instead. Tickets are dumb cheap.
12 yrs might be right but the first few years the city was tripping and it was a bunch of alternative acts and they didnt promote til like the week of so it got no crowd. WDKX (you should be familiar having done a stint in Cuse) got involved along with some other org's and now they rock the lineups usually.
I grew up in Rochester (live in Harlem now). But I will be there for Rochesters Music Fest!

You forgot Jill Scott. She is brillant live. go on youtube an dput her name in. She is one the best performers around. She sounds great and she changes up her songs and they sound even better then the originals.
Ugh, why is Mike Jones rappin so loud on this remix? He might sound alright on this beat if he just calm it down, got damn, lol.
I'm truly happy for LeToya and I hope she continues her success and I'm glad she opened her eyes and did become Beyonce little puppet like Kelly and Michelle continues to be.
The new Lala James video is nice. I'm not really a fan of Lela James because she sounds like Joss Stones accept worse.
As for Beyonce I'm sick of her ass they need to take the focus off her tired ass its plenty of young and gifted stars out there, only reason why she popular is because of Jay-Z camel looking ass that was an insult to let her get that role for Dream Girls they should have given the part to Angela Basset or Vivica "Plastic" Fox. i've watched a few of letoya performances i like her however i must agree with everybody when they say she needs to take care of the nerve thing cause i think if she wasn't so nervous she could do a really good job you can see it throughout all her performances she's really damn nervous she really needs to do something about it cause i get so mad when you're expecting someone to do a good job and you're left with saying it was OK i guess we're probably expecting too much to soon but she gotta come with cause all eyes are on her
