Thankfully, Jennifer Hudson's role as Kelly Rowland, I mean Effie in the upcoming movie Dreamgirls won't signify the beginning of a dream deferred. It's actually the beginning of her dreams becoming a reality.
It seems that JHud has been as busy a beaver as Beyonce (DING!). Since wrapping up the filming of Dreamgirls, due in theaters in December, Jennifer has been in the studio recording her R&B album with Renn Music Productions. Renn is the team responsible for hitmakers N'SYNC and The Backstreet Boys.
Although she hasn't named her first single, it is expected to be released within weeks of the Dreamgirls release. And she is even hinting that Beyonce and Jamie Foxx might make an appearance on her album. Check her website or Renn's for samples of her music.

Like most of you, we will be most interested in the musical performances. Everyone from Mary Mary and T.I. to Jamie Foxx, Keyshia Cole and Prince will be hitting the stage. However, if you don't get a chance to see the entire show just make sure you see the opening performance by BEYONCE (DING! DING! DING!)
Beyonce will open the show with her new band performing her new single "Deja Vu" featuring Jay-Z. Set your DVR's now.
Now, two quick notes... I assume tonight we will learn the name of Bey's new all female band. It's funny how she traded in her first all female band for these new puppets. Also, tonight will be very telling in terms of Bey's career. A sophomore album is a very big deal. Bey clearly is aiming to be a music icon. With that said, I want to see a new image. Madonna, Janet, Cher.... all those "performance" icons shape shift and keep us guessing which is why we love them.
If Beyonce is to join the ranks of those icons one day then I want to see more than just SASHA stompin' and sashaying and hair tossing and fans blowing. BRING IT! Turn up the fuckin' heat... 'cause if you don't baby I'll swear it's deja vu. (see sample of Sasha stompin' here)

I wonder about Beyonce myself, but then I remember that the only performance people were talking about last year was that Destiny's Child lap dance. On the top 12 moments for the BET awards, she is part of three of those moments. So with that being said, I think she can do it!
And somehow, she suprised everyone on Sunday performing with jay-z even though; they have performed so many times before.

I agree with you SOHH Soulman. They are a talented duo, and Jay Z is the G.O.A.T., in my opinion, but it's time to try a new formula. Beyonce hasn't released a solo album since 2003, but it's like she never disappeared. She may become a victim of overexposure. Back when Destiny's Child released "Survivor" they were overexposed to the point of overkill. It was so bad they got booed off stages, even in Houston, thier hometown.
Watching that video of Beyonce, you can see after all these years he style has not changed. You can look at Kelly and tell which point in time they were in, because she always changes her look. Kelly really has the goods to be something serious in the music industry, she just has to make it happen for herself. She has a great voice, she's the best dancer in DC, and she's gorgeous. We'll see what she does with this next album though. I hope Michelle does well too.
Jennifer Hudson is extremely talented. LaToya London, Fantasia, and J-Hud would make a hell of a group. They are real singers. I hope her album does well. She needs to get her homie Elton John on there for some of that cross-over chedder.
I would love to see Janet perform at the show. You know I'll be watching, and will DEFINITELY be giving my opinion of things tomorrow.

Beyonce can do whatever she wants and it's going to be looked at as great, which isn't fair. BET has been hyping up her performance since they announced it. Just look at this blog, out of all the performers, the attention was placed on Beyonce. She is talented, but my goodness, the hype over her is ridiculous.

There has to be more to this young lady than BOOTY shaking videos and songs like "Check Up On It". She is a great singer. She is still really young and has time to grow and find out who she truly is in due time. And yes she is overexposed. Daddy Matthew is sooo busy making sure she is a superstar that Kelly and Michelle relly do not stand a chance with him as their manager. They have been successful as a group and he has been an instrumental part of that and I'm sure they are both forever grateful and loyal; however, there comes a time to be thankful and move on. Latoya is doing great and I believe Kelly and Michelle can as well. I wish them all the wisdom and knowledge to do so. Where are Kelly and Michelle's mothers. I would love to know how they feel about this situation!!!

But Bey's performance of bring the guys out of the crowd is a copy of Janet from the Velvet Rope tour and she does now in all her tours. So Bey or Destiny's Child does not get credit for that. Thats was copying off someone.
A friend of mine works at BET and he says Daddy Knowles is at BET consistantly networking and pushing Beyonce. Not Kelly but Beyonce. Seems like to me Daddy Knowles has been reading the Joseph Jackson How To book.

Well, she wanted it this way. I personally don't like Beyonce or her music, and I will say that she is always saying how she loves to work and wants to accomplish so much. That's cool for anyone, but you have to take a break sometime. That's why so many of her fans are second guessing her by saying I love Beyonce but she's getting on my nerves, she's everywhere! There's not a day that goes by that I don't hear her name on TV, maybe because I watch a lot of style, music and entertainment channels LoL. But still, I'll say I'm sick of her and always will be, but not to hate, her management is on point. She's not stupid when it comes to promoting herself, performing first at the BET AWARDS when your single is only a week and some days old...damn!

Beyonce is nowhere near icon status. She can't even have a hit movie. Janet acts, sings and has a Oscar nomination under her belt. Beyonce is whack. That is all I have say on her. I am really feeling Christina's new song. I hate to say this but I think her new album just may surprise Beyonce and Janet. It has a new spin on it and it hasn't been done before. We will see. I hope Janet comes stronger than the first song.
