Overall there were just way to many errors! It got so bad that I just stopped watching! I have to give it up for T.I for being able to keep going even thought his sound was fucked up! I also like how Jay-Z came out in jeans and a T and not a suit! Don't get me wrong I like suits but the T and Jeans were the code of that moment.

Wow, SOHH Soulful, you are one of the few people that didn't like Beyonce's performance. First of all, she is one of the only people that can sing live without going flat. And no she wasn't lip-synching. The band was cool as hell. They were hot, but the camera didn't give them enough shine. And I honestly think the performance was much better than Crazy in Love. She is singing better and I like that she just has the band and no dancers; the dancers are too broadway and it doesn't allow the artist to truly work the stage.

As for being a Jay-z video girl, come on now; that's a bit harsh. Although, I did feel the ass slap was a bit staged, but at least you know that happens in real life unlike the blatant call for attention with Jaime and Fantasia making out. And her going down backwords and holding Jay's belt was cool as hell. Also the way they bowed to each other worked really well. I thought the performance was cool as hell.

Cause you can bet Jay-z doesn't bow to no video girl.

I have NO doubt that no matter how many people were on the lineup last night, they would have made room for "Miss Jackson" - so what gives? I mean we all know that Beyonce and all these other chicks got all their stuff FROM Janet; I mean, look at all of the performers last night, Chris Brown, Ney-O, etc, (All MICHAEL Jackson), Beyonce and all those other chicks, (JANET Jackson) so it's painfully obvious that the Jacksons have set the stage for stage performances... so my question is, WHERE THE FREAK ARE THE JACKSONS?

I would love for you to retire Beyonce efor the log for the simple fact that people hate on the girl 24/7. I'm sure by the end of the day this thread will be filled with all kind of unneccessary remarks. She can never do anything right based on what I read in these various blogs. Damon Waynes sucked! Marlon could have done a waaay better job and I agree with CJ, that Biggie impersonation was terrible. Basically the whole show was kind of boring.

I thought the show was just ok, could have been better. I'm a little confused about the winners however. Missy wins for female rap artist of the year over Lil Kim, that's crazy!! TI wins for male rap artist of the year over 50, Common and Kanye, that's even more crazy!! I was really starting to feel TI this album, but his arrogance last night on stage after his performance as well as while accepting his award turned me off.

Beyonce's performance was great, absolutely loved her and Jay Z's chemistry.

Chaka Khan was a mess, yelling all loud, Yolanda Adams outshined her on her own song.

Much love to Keyshia Cole, that girl has so much raw talent, and sings with so much emotion, she's just too real. I personally think that she should have won best female R & B artist of the year over Mary. I think Mary is highly overrated, although her songs touch the heart, her singing pains the ears, she can't carry a note to save her life and is really just screaming into the microphone.

Jamie Foxx can not sing to save his life and Fantasia, who I love, looked as if she was having a seizure.

Yung Joc sucked, but of course he would, he's signed to Bad Boy.

First what do you mean Janet's Peeps making excuses for her albums not selling well; she has had only one album that has not sold as well as her others and that is Damita Jo. And she performed all over the damn planet for that one. The superbowl, yeah i have to agree, made no damn sense at all. After the superbowl fiasco, Da mita Jo could have had Pavarotti, Usher, Beyonce and Michael Jackson on it and it would not have sold that well, she had been outcasted by Viacom and other media outlets and therefore only sold 2 million copies of Damita Jo. And, you had not seen Janet perform escapade live since 1990 on the AMA's. Any other album she has sang her new music, whether it was on Rosie, GMA, Jay leno and Soul Train Awards.

That being said, I would have enjoyed her performing last night as well, especially since "Call On Me" is doing extemely well on Radio, after the performance she would pushed the single further up the charts. But, Hey she has been doing this for well over 20 years, she knows what she is doing.

She will probably perform on the VMA's in a couple of months and other things before that.

Beyonce's performance was cool, I enjoyed it but, was not the highlight of the evening, the performance looked rushed, Bey was trying to hard to impress, it was obvious. it was more of the same from her, same look and style. I hope she changes up her style a bit. She is not evolving as an artist in my opinion. The band was a nice touch but, was not ready for last night. The performance was vacant of someone trying to reach iconic proportions.

And, Bey's vocals were prerecorded live but, there is nothing wrong with that she is a performer, you don't have to sing live when you performing like that.

Soul Man, you hit the nail right on the head, and yes lets retire Beyonce's ass.

Everyone talking about TI and the sound not being good. But in the beginning, he was trying to do was JAYZ did at his Madison Aquare Garden Show. He tried to do the acapella thing, and then gradually build into the performance. That is when the sound went bad. But, I personally think the whole idea was bad in the first place.

Ok,ok, ok, let me run it down for ya'll:

-Mary Mary killed it, their performance was excellent. Definitely one of the best of the evening.

-Beyonce did a great job, however, it was no different than her other performances.

-Jamie Fox was weak, and he was showboating waaaay to damn hard. I honestly can't stand him. I love Fantasia though, but that kiss is going to set the rumor mill in motion.

-Chris Brown was tight. Someone tell me, why was Teairra Mari sitting up in the nosebleed section?

-Keyshia Cole sounded very winded during her performance. She needs to build up her stamina. Also, in my opinion, her stage presence was weak.

-Chaka definitely was on some of that sticky icky before she went onstage. Yolanda Adams did the damn thing.

-Mary J. Blige did ok, nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed her.

-Nemo, I mean Ne-Yo (a.k.k Ghetto Blowfish) was boring. I've seen all the shit he's done a million times before. It's time for these R&B cats to step their game up.

-Busta tore it down. I was so glad to see my girl Rah Digga onstage last night. She is the best female MC ever, besides Lauryn Hill. I hate she didn't get any camera time though. It was good to see Eminem back. I'm glad he's getting through his depression.

-Prince was good, but he should have done some of the classics too.

-Janet looked amazing, but I wish she would have performed, instead of just strutting her ass across the stage.

-T.I. was definitely a professional last night. He held it down even through all the technical difficulties. My homegirl thought it was part of the performance.

SOHH Soul Man...I don't know what show you were looking at, but both Keyshia Cole and MJB sounded a hot mess..like burning garbage....they are both so overrated to me as performers...especially K Cole...I just don't get what is so impressive about her...I wouldn't buy an album from either one of them...the only MJB joints I bought was 411, My Life, Share My World and Mary, just for the production...she sounds aweful, sometimes even on wax...and K Cole is much worse than her live...she was so out of key and her pitch is so bad...why is she so impressive...somebody is not listening right...K Cole needs some vocal lessons for real...what are you listening to???

Beyonce can never and will never be able to walk out on the corner of a stage and have the crowd go crazy and have a standing ovation like Janet did and always does. She walks out, flashes a smile and the crowd just explodes.

Beyonce's performances are always her running around and then doing the same booty dance. Janet PERFORMS. From begining to end you get a performance. Beyonce just runs around.

The rolling on the floor was a copy from Kelly Rowland. She did that at the MTV Europe awards earlier this year.

CJ I would say with a serious straight face that Yonce is more influenced by Tina Turner than Janet.

Her moves, her style, a mini skirt showing off her musclular thighs. The all out freestyle movement to the horns and guitar sounds. That shit has Tina written all over it.

Regarding Janet sounding white -- Because she pronounces her words correctly and uses correct grammer does not make her sound white, it makes her sound educated. And you making that statement makes you sound ignorant.

Janet has 20 years of experience in the music biz, has sold 120 million albums and singles worldwide, puts on the best shows during her tours, has broke countless records and has enough awards/trophies to fill up my entire bedroom. At this stage of the game--all Janet needs to do is walk across the stage to make a crowd go banannas. She aint got shit to prove. That's what I call a legend. With a night full of technical malfunctions---I aint mad at her for not performing by the least.

Now--B....the bitch is bad....no doubt. Her 1st album was beyond words. A classic in my book. Her acting aint half bad either. She's a force to be reckoned with. She's definitely come a long way since her days in Houston. However--the performance was bad....really bad. Is that what it's come to in the music game...jirating and shaking your ass across the stage for your performance to be considered "da bomb" (though she managed to keep her vocals on point)? B should have had some backup dancers..and some tight choreography. She was certainly trying hard to impress---but for me she failed miserably. I was honestly left saying "Ewwwwww" (the hair didn't help either). Though--I still look forward to what she has in store for us on her new album.

Beyonce is without a doubt the best female vocalist out. The girl can SANG. I didn't necessarily like her Chaka Khan hair but hey all she cares about is if Jay-Z liked it. We see he did. I think that they really respect each other as artists and music. As far as retiring Beyonce, you can't do it. Too many people have an opinion about her because we know she is at the top of her game. Bey was influenced by janet in as far as she was one of the first black female artists to sell millions of records. That's it. JANET CANNOT SING. Years ago she sang live at the grammys and sounded like nails on a chalkboard (think J-Lo). Anyway much props to Beyonce for being the amazing vocal talent that she is.

Keyshia Cole and Ne Yo sucked koala balls, as usual and as expected. Mary J actually sang on key for most of her performance, that was a shocker. Jamie and Fantasia kissing made my stomach gurgle. Puffy and Young Joc *long sigh* Chris Brown can dance his ass off, but he's still annoying as hell.

Bey looked an aluminum foil MESS. She can sang her ass off and she sounded great but she looked like a tin-man video-hoe. The glitter stickies up and down her side was just WRONG. And yes she seemed like the happy Jigga groupie again. He smacked her ass y'all. And did anyone see when he told her to hush when Chaka was performing? LOL

I usuallu just read, but I have to put my two cents in. Here is my list of the top performances, from best to worst:

1. Busta - I was lovin the fact that he had everyone there (now you know that DMX can't travel everywhere), and Eminem at the end was crazy. Good to see he's doing alright.

2. Chaka Tribute/Mary Mary - Mary Mary is always wonderful, and they give great, you need to get up and shout performances, so that was a given. And as for the Chaka Tribute, was I the only person who was LOVING India Arie's singing of tell me something good? And Yolanda tore that thang up, she should put out a secular album

3. Beyonce - I did enjoy it, I actually dig the song better live than I do on the radio, cause she's hollering the whole way through, instead of that weird holler on the end of the radio version

4. Mary J. Blige - now we all know Mary ain't a vocalist, but when she sings you feel her, that is why she has been so successful. I was a little disappointed last night that she didn't get down with the thang on her solo performance.

5. Chris Brown - the boy was good, people really need to stop saying that Usher influenced him when Michael Jackson is responsible for them both!

6. Jamie Foxx - I'm just waiting to hear that him and Fantasia are dating/f*ing/really close friends...cause that kiss might have been planned, but they got a little too into that

7. Keyshia Cole - I expect so much better from her, because the girl is hot. But a little more experience under her belt will work that out

8. Prince - I personally love the man, but I liked his energy in the Chaka tribute over his own performance

9. T.I. - not his fault, but still you dont' get an A for effort with a live performance

10. Diddy and Young Joc - I don't know why Young Joc don't know better about letting Puffy get all up in your stuff.

aight' i got one thing to say... as far as performing is concerned, beyonce is not or nowhere near janet "damn it" jackson. b is not a god given, bonafied star. 1st of all, i do not have a lot of respect for b, simply bc she is always around ugly people (ie kelly, michelle) and she built her career off of killing the careers of letoya and farrah bc they were just as pretty as she. b is a buster and the world knows it. 2nd of all as far as vocals are concerned, she is not the best vocalist out there of our age. people such as "the old" whitney houston, mariah carey, chaka kahn, faith evans, and a few others are by far more advanced. when b first started her vocals sucked, and they still do. i am a musician and i know music as well as the fact that her voice will NOT stand the test of time. what in the hell was she doing up there. i thought she was gonna fall. b you are good, but not good enough. sorry. many of you will agree, somebody respond.

People are so caught up in Beyonce's stardom, they don't even have the capacity to see that she had a not so good performance last night. But saying all this, last night was not one of her best. It did look a little rushed. Artists should care about what people think because we are the one buying their albums and paying their bills. I can talk because I have never bought a bootleg CD in my whole life. It seems every blog I go, people say the bet awards was wack, boring, or sucked. LOL but yet Will.I.Am just said on MTV NEWS, that the BET AWARDS was the best show he has ever attended in a long time. I think this years bet awards weren't as great. The best one was 03 because there were more performances, more tributes, and MoNique was the host, she made it funny and entertaining as hell. This year, they tried too hard. First let me say that the show was a big disappointment and the host job was just an embarrassment. I would have thought that coming from a comedic family he would have brought the house down, well, we were let down. The errors are always there at the bet awards but this year they were just to noticeable. Janet, people even she cannot just come and say I want to perform and they allow it. She was invited at the last minute as a surprise guest because she was already in LA shooting the video for "Call On Me" with Nelly. The show scehdule was already made months before the airing they heard she was gonna be in town and they asked her to strut her stuff and she did, so stop hating. As far as this years performances, some lacked majorly. Beyonce` is my girl but she is to classy to be all on the floor like that and I'm sorry but I just did not get that performnace. Chris Brown on the other hand showed us that he has talent and can sing live while dancing. Mary Mary stole my heart with yesterday, T.I. proved he can handle preassure, u go boy. Mary J. Blige proved that old school girls like myself still shine, I liked others as well but those were my favorites. Now for this retard who is jealous of Janet.
