While you were waiting on Russell and Kimora to get back together, Ron Isley's horny ass was taking his Baby Makin' Music straight to the top of the Billboard R&B Charts. And I gotta show some love to Jagged Edge for their self titled cd debuting at #2 and Teena Marie's Sapphire in at #3. Everything else on that chart is usual. See for yourself.

There are two new guys from New Orleans named Luke & Q who are trying to make some noise for the sake of pure R&B. Their story: from New Orleans, sang background for Tyrese , auditioned for Clive Davis and shaBAM! record deal. Why should we give a fuck? Well, they make a pretty good point...
Q: This is New Orlean's R&B. Our R&B is a bit of a gumbo. It's a lil hip hop, a lil boss music, soulful R&B, smooth R&B. Nothing tainted. Nothing convienent.
Luke: This music is gonna bring people back to the 90's, like when Mary J. Blige first came out. Groups like Blackstreet, Silk, Shai, Troop, Tevin Campbell. We just trying to bring that kind of music back.
SOHH: Why?
Luke & Q: Because the music game is ran by hip hop, but it's all good. We love hip hop. We need to be in love again. Stop the killin' and all that. People are forgetting about the ladies. The need something to go to sleep to. The need something to fall in love to.
Well if you need something to fall asleep to. Here is there single "My Turn". Right now it''s not a SOHH Soulful favorite but as always we got mad love for New Orleans and anybody doing anything for good R&B.

You trippin, dude, "My Turn" is a nice ass song. Its probably not gonna break any records or get much attention from anywhere outside of "the home front" (if ya feel me) but its mellow... sweet.... something for the ladies, I guess, like ole boy said. I saw them live a couple weeks ago. Q can blow. Luke's straight too, but he be trying to do too much. There's only so many riffs necessary in a 3 word phrase. They not gonna blow, but they could do alright if they're marketed and promoted properly.
LOL. I'm mad they listed tevin campbell as a group.
I 1st heard the song on www.underdogentertainment.net.....I think Luke & Q are talented! Problem is good talent never gets the shine they need. recording companies always concentrate on "Pop trash"...These guys have written sstuff together with the Underdogs for Omarion "O", Avant "Can't Wait & 4 Minutes" Toni Braxton "I Wanna Be", Marques Houston "Naked" Jojo, tank etc etc.....I hope they make cuz they deserve it!!!!! Well, I just saw the My Turn video....and it was real nice....but as stated above, unfortuately, they will not be super huge, but they will get a little shine. I will definately cop their album when it hits the stores.
I think the only way they will be huge is 1) have a good marketing and promotions team, and 2) pick a targeted audience and stick to it.

You must not like REAL R& B ...if you don't like Luke & Q....they have true talent and earned the name "The Truth of R& B". I love them!!!
