With this week being dedicated to the Fellas of R&B, we couldn't go on without mentioning R. Kelly. We all know the R-ruh is a talented brother. However he's never been known for his smarts. I mean, rumor has it that he and Fantasia learned to read at the very same school. You feel me?
Anyways, the other day I was thinking, "When is homeboy going to trial?" And after yesterday's scoop courtesy of Ananda Lewis, I am saying, NOT SOON ENOUGH!
According to Ananda, R. Kelly wants us to believe that it was his brother on the videos molesting the little girl and not him. In an interview with Ananda, Kell's brother claims that R. Kelly allegedly offered him cash to take the rap for him. He went on to say that after R. Kelly made the video he was flossin' them to his homeboys and bragging about his manhood.
Have any of you seen the video? It was filmed in the very same room that Vibe magazine interviewed him in for an exclusive cover story a few years ago. In said cover story, the R-ruh brags on how the room/house was custom made just for him. Now, with the room being identical and the person on the video looking like R. Kelly, I'd venture to say that it is R. Kelly. Allegedly.
Last time that there was a media circus around R. Kelly and this scandal, he responded by dropping Chocolate Facotry, arguably his best work since the double album. I wonder what musical goodies he's got in store for us this time to keep our minds otherwise occupied while he figures his way out of this mess. As sad as it is, I'm sure it will be phenomenal.
