New R&B Music For You To Bump; Dupri Plans a Janet/Mariah Duet

If you need to give your Mary J Blige cd a rest, then Heather Headley might not be a bad choice if your in the mood for power vocals. Her new cd "In My Mind" is the follow up to her 2002 debut and is climbing the adult R&B charts.
India.Arie has a new track bubbling under. Her new song "I Am Not My Hair" is definitively that .ARIE style but the subject matter is so passe at this point. I am happy India is still pumping out music. I loved her first two cds but this single gets a 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. Can she not have a cause or campaign? Can India just sing and have a good time? Nevertheless I like India so much that it doesn't matter.
Otherwise we have Jaheim on tap to release Ghetto Classics on Valentines Day. LL Cool J and Jennifer Lopez have a new single on the radio that I can't seem to hear the entire version of.
Finally, Jermaine Dupri is feeling the creative bug bite him again as he is now in the studio working on Monica's album and I contemplating a duet between Janet and Mariah. Y'all, I really don't make this shit up. Honestly....
India has to have a cause. Would we like her as much if she didn't?
Heather can sing her face off but she still ain't got down like she did in Aida. The passion hasn't reached that level yet IMO.
And why can't Jaheim make an album without the word Ghetto? He gonna run out of titles soon.
Not trying to hate on Janet but her singing is no where near as good as Mariah Carey's singing. A duet wouldn't work out.

Like Janet....like Mariah....not so sure how they'd sound on a song together. Mariah would dominate the song and Janet would dominate the video. JD's the magic man, so maybe he can make it work.
No disrespect to JD, but a duet with Janet and Mariah might be a good idea.
But the fact that you feel the need to leak this information to the public makes the whole idea worse than Cam's press conference about Jay-Z in order to help move units. You making Janet look like she is riding off the success that Mariah is having right now. All you would do is handicap her.
Janet been doing her thing on her own for years, she don't need a duet with Mariah to push units. That's where she went wrong with the last album, with the titty stunt. She already a star, all that gimmick shit is for the birds.
Here is my advice to you JD. Forget the duet and just make Janet some good music like you been doin with Mariah and Usher.

First of all, this song with Janet and Mariah is gonna sound a hot mess because Janet, for 1, can't sing and damn sure couldn't harmonize with Mariah! The only people who have been able to harmonize with Mariah are Boyz II Men and Whitney Houston. Those are people who can all sing. I think Janet won't be able to make a comeback because she tried that 2 years ago and still didn't comeback. The only thing she can really do is dance and it's not like she's this young and new superstar, like Ciara, who can do crunk beats and look young. Mary and Mariah have been able to comeback because of their amazing voices and songs to show case that. Janet tries too hard to be young and sexy with her publicity stunts and over the top showing of the skin. She doesn't need to do that to be successful, she should show that she is mature and sophisticated instead of trying to keep up with all the young girls like Beyonce.
I don't think Janet and Mariah would mesh well together...

Mariah Voice is Horrible! SHe USes so much STudio worK on her LP's she can't even sang it correctly LIve... "We belong together", on the Grammy's was the worst! Every Live award show Mariah preformed at in 2005,and 2006 sounded a Hot mess...

I think a duet with Mariah and Janet would be awesome and I hope that Jermaine can put it together. I can't believe that there are so many Janet haters commenting. I love Janet's soft sexy voice and I think that Mariah has a nice voice also. Janet is a multi-talented individual. She can sing, dance, act, and entertain an audience. Why ya'll hating on her? she is still the highest paid artist ever. If you didn't know, Janet signed an 80 million dollar contract with Virgin Records and Mariah signed a 100 million dollar contract(but later lost it and was paid 20 plus million to get out of the contract) This upcoming album will be Janet's last album under her contract with Virgin, so I guess ya'll are hating because ya'll so broke and she's so paid. I have been a fan of Janet since the late 80's and she hasn't let me down yet!!!
This duet is LONG overdue. I can't wait. It will be hot and it will make for an even hotter video!

This is in response to that Mariah hater. You obviously haven't been living for the last 15 years. Mariah dominated the charts in the 90's. And although her $100 million record deal was snatched away from her, she has wrote or co produced practically every single song and album to her name, whereas Janet barely writes her songs. That means she was paid much more beyond her contract. Also, let's not forget that she is the highest selling female artist of all times. Janet hasnt even sold half of the 160 million albums that Mariah has. I must admit that her recent live performances havent all been that great but that doesnt mean that shes a studio artist. She can still out sing the majority of artist male or female to this day. I believe Whitney also still has a great voice. When you have great voices like Whitney and Mariah, you can stand to deteriorate and still be considered a great singer. Janet has no room. Having said all that, it is possible for Janet and Mariah to have a hit record. Mariah can successfullys whisper a song that will not out sing Janet too bad. Most of you people need to learn how to give constructive critism and not just slam people cause it makes u feel better. Cause lets face it, its probably not a one on here that has commented that makes even 1% of what Janet or Mariah makes.
