The late great Tupac Shakur was famously quoted as saying that he spent much of his time in the womb as his mother spent time in prison. As if he was born incarcerated. It's a striking metaphor for the black community and the struggles that are inherently thrust upon it through systematic racism and centuries of oppression. I've wondered out loud for years if the CIA was behind the assassination of Tupac Shakur in continued efforts to deny the black community a strong leader...so I'm not mad at Alicia Keys. And I doubt Afeni Shakur is, either.
Thug Life Army hooked us up with the above audio, from a Memphis speech at the Dream Reborn Conference. Ms. Shakur actually stays far from the "conspiracy theories" that make white people uncomfortable to deliver clear cut message of empowerment. A former Black Panther Party member and a passionate speaker, Ms. Shakur was part of the NY Panther 21 that saw her imprisoned while pregnant with 'Pac. I could see if he was in jail for a purpose like the numerous times Dr King was arrested or the long ass time Mandela was locked up. Pac was a bitch because he was scared of jail (or was he tired of getting ass fucked . . .no wonder he hated New York so much lol). At least Mandela took his jail time like an OG. Plus he served his time in a foreign Prison. U.S. prisons are like vacations compared to them foreign ones. Yeah the gov't was watchin' and they most likely used the media to escalate alot of the bullshit the pac was going through. But all in all he got killed because he was young and reckless.
