SOHH Left wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the death of Eazy-Z, aka Eric Wright, who died at the young age of 31, 13 years ago.
On top of the legacy Wright left within the West Coast rap canon, he was also the first public rap figure to admit he had contracted AIDS, putting a public face on an evil epidemic. Here's just a taste of his contribution to the music world.

That is not totally accurate. First of all he is the ONLY rapper we know of who contracted AIDS. Secondly I don't recall him admitting anything. By the time he found out he had AIDS he was on his death bed and I don't recall him personally making any statements. If I recall correctly Easy died within days of the AIDS diagnosis.

Hip Hop Weekly 51.2 coming today... HHW #52 The Finale Coming Next Wed
I just dropped Crooked off the beats last night to the final HHW. Hes going to take a couple days and get it perfect (it may take more time than normal, you'll see why next week) then im going to go back and perfect it before premiering it on The Takeover next Wednesday at midnight on Power 106. Also, FYI, the first Hip Hop Weekly actually dropped in early April of last year so we had to get the timing right for the last one... the only hint I will give you for now is it's going to be the biggest out of all of them in more ways than one....
