LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Police questioned a man Thursday who allegedly shot and fatally wounded another man in an alley in the Fairfax Village section of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The shooting at Melrose Avenue and North Poinsettia Place was reported at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. George Hoopes of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station.
The deceased, a "male Hispanic about 25 or 26 years old," was shot several times in the upper body, Hoopes said. A witness reported hearing 12 gunshots.

Teen Boy Fatally Shot In Echo Park
LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Police say a boy has been shot and killed in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles. The shooting was believed to have been gang-related.
Los Angeles police Officer Jason Lee says officers received a report of a shooting victim shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of North Bonnie Brae St. in Echo Park.
A perimeter serach ended around 2 a.m. with no suspect having been found.
A description of the assailant was not immediately available, said Officer Jay Balgemino of the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Station, adding that the attack was "possibly gang-related".
Lee says the boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This is Los Angeles' fourth shooting in nine days in which at least one victim was a minor
