Thank God, some days of sunshine in the weekend forecast. FUCK this weather, for reals. If what Raphael Saadiq said was true, I’m about to pack my fuckin’ bags for San Diego the next time Winter rolls around...
Here at SOHH Left Coast we have a couple dope things in the works. First off, next week I’ll be talking with Evidence about his new album, The Weatherman (which is fucking dope, by the way). I’ll definitely try to get it posted as soon as possible.
Also, the debut from Kurupt’s new artists Tangled Thoughts is currently en route to the home base here in Sac. Hopefully it makes its way here safe and I’ll be able to hit you off with a review sometime next week. And lastly, I should be coming up on a copy of Omar Cruz’s mixtape here in the next few days, and of course I’ll give you the rundown on it as soon as I give it a few spins.
And for all of you aspiring Myspace rappers, the once-great and now re-emerging indie hip hop label Rawkus is apparently doing some sort of talent search called “The Rawkus 50.†I got a press release about it, but I’m not about to post the whole shit on here, so you can head over to www.rawkus.com if you’re interested.
Apparently Bay rapper San Quinn will have a guest spot on the UPN’s Girlfriends on May 7th. Maybe he’ll be playing that bird-looking bitch’s love interest. In other Quinn news, he’ll be doing a show in Sacramento on March 23rd and will have some other tour dates popping up soon. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.
I didn’t mention it on the City Guide yesterday, but for all the Beatnuts fans out there, Psycho Les will be the Guest DJ at Boombox in LA this Saturday. It’s goin’ down at the Grand Star Jazz Club at 943 N. Broadway in Chinatown. Ladies get in free, and for dudes it’s $5 before 10:30 and $10 after.
Later this month in LA, Boost Mobile will be hosting a show featuring Game and Young Jeezy. It should be interesting to see how those two get along after the little incident at the All Star Break. 3,000 tickets to the show will be given to kids who volunteered four hours of their time for various community service projects; I’m not sure if any other tickets will be on sale. The concert will be at the Kodak Theater on March 30th, and will also feature 3 shitty rock bands that you don’t care about.
The Bay Area’s Demolition Men, Impereal and Devro, will be dropping a Mixtape DVD this month hosted by Husalah of Mob Figaz. From what I’ve heard, the shit is going to be dope. My copies in the mail, so I’ll be sure to let you know wether or not it’s worth copping when I get it. Based on their track record, I’m sure it will be.
And to end things off, a bunch of people were posting shit on here about Game’s brother Big Fase getting mushed in his grill by some dude who looked hella shermed out. To that I say: who gives a fuck.
Alright everyone, have a peaceful weekend, and enjoy the weather while it lasts.
