Damn... I know you guys are having trouble deciding what to buy today, being that both Crunk Hits Vol. 3 and Hyphy Hitz are both dropping...
And yes, that was sarcasm.
I’m not going to touch on Crunk Hits 3 - that shit’s out of my jurisdiction. But being that TVT is also capitalizing on the hyphy movement, I guess we’ll take a second to speak on it.
Despite its retarded title, and everything else you would associate with an album called Hyphy Hitz, the album actually has some decent cuts on it. And while Crunk Hits Vol. 3 has a bunch of shit like “Chicken Noodle Soup” and “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)” that people are already mad burnt out on, Hyphy Hitz (even without saying it out loud, it still feels retarded just typing those words) is actually comprised of songs that a good portion of the country is unfamiliar with. Although just about everyone in the Bay knows about Nump, it’s likely that anyone from NY has ever heard of him, and the same probably goes for Dem Hoodstarz or The Team.
There’s definitely some bullshit on the album -- the Babyface Assassins song is straight up ca-ca and both of the A’z songs are pretty weaksauce (although “Yadadamean” would’ve had some potential if those cats had stepped their lyrical game up a little). And what the fuck are Da Musicianz doing on here?
Listening to an album of nothing but fright house synthesizer beats and hearing the word “scraper” repeated on 20 different songs definitely has the potential to get old pretty quick, but if you don’t already own all of these albums, it’ll make a nice a little addition to throwing the itunes on shuffle. And if you can’t get down to Mac Dre's “Feeling Myself” (which is probably his biggest hit other than “Too Hard For The Radio” and is still pretty much unheard to most people outside of the West Coast), you’re a certified dick.
But even as I write this, I’m well aware that somewhere in the vicinity of zero percent of you will be copping this album. I guess I just wanted to let you know that surprisingly enough, it’s not really as terrible as you might think.

Actually, we can blame it on the “The Man”. Black people didn’t ask to come to this country. Blacks were taken from Africa against their will (Killed otherwise!) and transported to America to do the work of some weak back lazy muthafuckas.
Our forefathers were forced to work from sun up to sun down to help make this country what it is now, and you have the audacity to sit up here and type about somebody being lazy. Our shortcomings are a direct effect of centuries of mistreatment by “The Man”.
You speak of high school dropouts, well public schools (Which is all a lot of us can opt for) in the inner urban city are a joke, they hire all of these inadequate teachers who couldn’t give a flying fuck about nothing other than their paycheck. A lot of kids become frustrated with this attitude displayed to them by adults and say “If they don’t give a fuck, why should I?” As far as lazy parents, maybe that use to be the case, but they’ve been waning muthafuckas off of government assistance for some time now; there are more blacks working now than ever. And this is after the Regan Administration tried killing us off again by flooding the inner urban cities with dope (Crack). We won’t even mention that there were/are many more whites receiving government assistance than any minority group in this country.
About the Jordan’s & rims and shit. Look… blacks have always been so deprived of the finer things this country had to offer that now some blacks tend to go overboard when it comes to certain things (Another confliction brought on by “The Man”). No excuse for this shit, it’s simply that we haven’t had it, so when some of us do get it, were gonna let the world know we go it; it’s that simple.
Don’t try to act like all black people bang, most of the time when white people hear shit it’s from the news, and us black folks know how biased the news can be; if a brother wearing a blue shirt gets hit by a bus, they’ll try to say that the bus driver must have been a blood. I’m not saying the shit doesn’t happen, because we know it does, but it’s life, certain groups have conflict over stupid shit; like oil!
White people have always used the divide and conquer method, meaning, the slave masters (Whites) would do shit like treat fair (lighter) skin slaves better than they would treat the dark slaves (Lighter slaves were house servants as opposed to field hands), thus creating tension between fair skin and dark skin slaves (Yet another confliction brought on by “The Man”), this was part of their Jim Crow methods, which slave owners paid good money to learn; Jim Crow supposedly devised a step by step guide of how to keep a slave with a slaves mentality, pitting light skin and dark skin blacks against one another was one of many tactics used by “The Man”. I gotta say that the light skin and dark skin issue isn’t as relevant today as it once was.
You talk about us killing and murdering our own, let me tell you, no one has murdered more of his own than white people. It doesn’t stop there though; no one has committed more murder than the white man period. Look at what’s happening in Iraq right now, our government trumped up false allegations (Some say they went as far as tearing down the towers themselves; killing over 3,000 innocent people) to declare war on Iraq in order to get that OIL. But that’s not even the worst part, to top off all the lives their responsible for taking, they’ll be fuckin’ the shit out of us (US citizens; all of us!); by the end of this summer gas will be $5.00 per gallon… the US seized that oil soaked land, the oil fields are in our possession and oil is still going up *scratching head*, sounds like the work of “The Man” to me.
Yeah… If you wanna hide somethin’ from niggas, put in one of those lyin’ ass, insufficient American history books, we not interested in that bullshit because weather you know it or not we still pass along what we (African Americans) see a history that your books will never tell. We know white folks better than you’ll ever know us, that’s why “The Man” struggles so hard to keep us down, he feels he’s got it comin for all the dirt he’s done, and he’s probably right; he’s made so many enemies though, he may not know which side the haymaker is coming from.

I ain't into hyphy, used to bump E-40 back when the "Sprinkle Me" joint was big...but to me it just got annoyin. Same thing with Eminem..he was cool for his first, maybe second album..but his whole character just got on my nerves.
