There wasn’t really any kind of news this week as far as West Coast Hip Hop goes. Maybe that’s a sign that artists out here need to start making some power moves...
I had a Chuck D interview coming for everybody, but Public Enemy cancelled their show tonight here in Sacramento; no reason was given yet but I’d guess it was due to low ticket sales, which is a shame.
If you’re in the Bay, the Rock The Bells tour with Pharoahe Monch, Raekwon, Redman, Ghostface, Smif N Wessun and Supernatural will be stopping in San Jose tonight and SF tomorrow night. If you’re in the area, be sure to go check that shit out.
So as MrMe3zup requested, here it is. (Had to go with the remix, though...)

Aw man Eighty good lookin out. I never even saw the remix but it has the same scences from the original only thing is that hi pitch west coast synth is missin on the remix but its all good bcuz the remix video has the Ghettobird intro. But Leathal Injection was Cubes last great album wit so many hits on their an it was a good follow up to Preditor.
This brought it back i remember gettin the cassett tape twice at this mom an pop shop in downtown lil rock an i swear everybody was lovin Cube back then bcuz his records would sellout the fastest. I had to be like 8 or 9 when this dropped bumpin that g shit at a young age. Im feelin good after that vid so no hate from me today only kindness. Im finna watch this a few more times.
1 more thing Cube would be #1 over Pac but Pac did more in a shorter amount of time than Cube also Cube was runnin out of ideas in 95-96' thats why he started bitin Pac wit the East vs. West situation when WSC dropped Bow Down tryin ryde the bandwagon an even Pac called him out on it. But none the less Cube inspired so many rappers. Plus he intoduced the hardest female to ever touch a mic in the west Ms. Yoyo. And the best pimp to touch the mic Mr. KayDee (whos solo album Ass, Gas, or Cash was fire by the way). And the tightest group at the time Madd Circle (dress code niggas back when Coolio was on crack))..Lynch Mob was always wack though

I think the west is dying they are losing most of their black population to the south. I live in Atlanta and I have a lot of homies here thats from LA who relocated and I think thats hurting the west coast music base. In LA Blacks and Mexicans are beefing and with LA majority Hispanic how is a black artist going to sell units? you can't expect hispanics to buy your indi music if both groups are beefing and you have to go through the latins in LA because they are the majority in the hood now.

I can't say were dying out here sure we have lost a good portion of our black population here but I think were just not organize in southern cali in our indi scene to blow up our up in coming artist like in the bay they do a better job in their indi scene developing their indi artist.
