Is Xzibit Back? (And Does Anyone Care Anymore?)

"Pimp My Ride" may have thrust Xzibit into the spotlight more than he had ever previously been (or was it the deodorant commercial?), but now "Mr. X to the Z" looks to be prepping himself for a little bit of the shine he was previously known for.
While his last three albums haven't given us any reminders of the lyricism that got the former Likwit crew member noticed in the first place, we still have At The Speed Of Life and 40 Dayz And 40 Nightz to remind us of what he's capable of. But since the release of Restless, he's been dumbing his lyrics down in an attempt to chase commercial success, which worked, but has also, in turn, alienated his original fanbase of backpackers. And what the fuck ever happened to the Golden State Warriors project?
It's evident at this point that we won't ever see another "Paparazzi" from him, but with the new single, "Concentrate," Xzibit has a certified club banger on his hands. X's lyrics on the track are pretty bootsy, but with a dark, heavy Rick Rock beat featuring a Buddhist monk chant and a remix featuring a verse from Bay Area heavy hitter San Quinn, "the Black John McClain" may have a single that'll turn the heads of those who forgot about him, and command some attention for his new album, Full Circle, when it drops on its new release date of October 17th (the original release date was today, September 19th).
Then again, there is a chance that those who shelled out 15 bones for Weapons Of Mass Destruction won't be forgiving, in which case Xzibit's fanbase will continue to consist of 15-year-olds who tune in every week to watch $10,000 sound systems and purple velour getting installed in '86 Buick Skylarks and Chrysler LeBarons.

Xziibit goes fed to me. Its alot of haters man and i dont even realize if ya'll know ya'll haters. Like the shit DMX said about Jay-Z wearin sandals or whatever they was. Xzibit is one of those dudes that aint gonna get his respect until he's gone, but his originality and lyricism never goes away.

X has been terrible since he went main stream. His first two albums are bangers. At the Speed of Life is his best joint. 40 Days and 40 Nights was serious too.
