Mississippi rapper/producer David Banner has been exclusively chosen by legendary entertainer Quincy Jones to remix his classic songs for an upcoming album.

According to Billboard, the colorful entertainer will have the opportunity to remake his top picks alongside a team of other popular producers.

“Quincy Jones got me, Akon, Pharrell Williams and T-Pain,” he explained. “[He] allowed us to choose and remake our favorite songs.”

The famous record producer’s catalog extends from his first album The Birth Of A Band, Vol. 1 to various other releases including contributions to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Banner’s selection came from the Jones-produced 1983 album Give Me The Night.

“I chose ‘Give Me the Night’ by George Benson with Jamie Foxx singing it.”

As of now there has been no release date for the upcoming album.

Banner’s The Greatest Story Ever Told hits stores tomorrow (July 15).
