I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. I'm about to put you all on to one of my most favorite spots in Atlanta. I don't go too often because I [Gyant] still want it to be fresh and new every time I roll through, but I figured I'd let you know what the deal is with a chill spot in the city. Jamal Coleman along with his partners DTP Exectuve, Chaka Zulu, Taiye (Tai Boogie), Travis Nuckles and Felix (Fecat) have been successfully holding down one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta for well over a year now. 300 Atlanta has consistently been the spot where you can come and get your drink, and your bowling on. But the unique element Jamal & his crew brings to this event is one that many just don’t have the clout, or the contacts to do. They brings out the celebrities.
Check out my Top 10 reasons why, if you don’t already know, you should be making your way to the bowling alley every Sunday.

1. The DJ: Atlanta staple DJ Technology, and DJ Cowboy get on the one’s and two’s delivering all the hits, past and present, the entire night. No matter what your musical taste is whether its T.I. or Bobby Brown, they most definitely get it poppin.
2. The laid back atmosphere: Most venues/events that pop off in the city usually come with an element of pretentiousness. But not 300. Everybody pretty much leaves their attitudes at home. It’s all about the bowling, and the booze [hell, sometimes free booze].
3. Celebrities, Celebrities, Celebrities: From Lil Wayne, to Snoop Dogg you never know who’s going to pop up on any given Sunday. I’ve bowled with everyone from Questlove, to Willy Northpole. And when it comes to the game what you do for a living don’t mean sh*t. Is all about the pins down the lane…Stttrrrrriikkkeeee!!!
4. Girls, Girls, Girls,: Yes, my male counterparts the women are always out in full force. Sure you have your groupies; however the fanfare is relatively small. Most of them are just there to have a good time. But, for some, if they happen to meet a celebrity - poke a hole in the condom, and get pregnant then "hey" it was an added bonus. But I'd imagine that most of them prefer the regular type a brutha which is great for any dude who has even the smallest amount of game. Just get the lady a drink, and who knows what opportunities might open up [pun intended] for you that night.
5. Cheap ass drinks: While some bowling alleys in the ATL *cough* Ten Pen *cough* want to charge ridiculous prices for alcohol, Jamal and his partners got us a venue that understands that we are all trying to feel something nice without breaking our damn wallets in the process.
6. Impromptu performances: Check out Day 26 [Making The Band Boyz] breaking it down for the fans. The video isn’t the best but you get the idea. You just never know who might be feeling it to give you a free performance.
7. Security is TIGHT: It’s a bowling alley, but don’t get it twisted they aren’t playing with the foolishness. I’ve seen dudes get tackled, and immediately thrown out for bringing that nonsense. This spot is a place to get your fun, but make no mistakes about it. If you bring that buffoonery to the spot you will get dealt with.
8. The Food: Yo, I don’t think I’ve been to a bowling alley that has execituve chef’s and shit. I mean the menu isn’t just your regular “burger and fries†type of sh*t. 300 brings it, and they put a little class in it in the process.
9. Low cover charge: While I have never paid a cover charge to enter the venue [because Jamal takes care of a brutha] I know the cover is like $5.00 or something like that. And remember the cover keeps out the foolishness, which brings me to my last reason why 300 Atlanta is the place to go for the grown & sexy.
10. NO DAMN KIDS! Jamal and his partners understands that though many of us are kids at heart many of us don’t necessarily want to deal with kids in reality. They check ID's at the door and I believe that if you’re over 18 you can enter. But, I rarely see any kids walking around when I’m there. This event caters to the adults. And not the legal adults. I mean the adults who’ve actually earned the damn title. I mean hell they have the world. Can we have our bowling.
All in all if you live in the ATL and want to get your party on without being in an actual club. Then the "Chill Spot" is for you. Remember, like any late night party the later you get there the better of you'll be. But remember they close at 2AM.
Come through. Lets bowl together. But I should warn you now, the loser buys a round of drinks. LOL.
Special shout out to Tiffany J. of Family Tree ENT for helping score some of these pictures. You know I can’t do it all y’all. All work and no play leads to an angry Gyant. LOL.
Talk to y'all lata.
